We are headed into the bathroom!

Good morning, ready for the new week? I’m here with a few pointers to help us keep our spaces clean, tidy, and welcoming… without long hours of stressing and fussing! Anyone need to take a deep breath before we dive into this week’s detailed cleaning and decluttering area…

No more horror bathroom!

This week we’re in FlyLady Zone 3: the bathroom. Is this how you feel about your bathroom, are you scared to go in there? Ha ha! Grotty towels, dust gathering at the back of the toilet, half-used bottles of shampoo in the shower and toothpaste marks on the mirror? Let’s change that fast!

Set your timer for 15 minutes (5 minutes if you are feeling particularly overwhelmed) and pick one or two things to do. We are making things better in our bathrooms, a little bit at a time!

Let’s clean and declutter!

Pop on one of my old “clean with me” videos and body double with me whenever you are feeling overwhelmed or looking for some support to clean and declutter! I’m your virtual cleaning buddy AND your 15-minute timer. (Here’s a good one from the archives where I go through the basics!)

See my cleaning list below for simple ideas of what to clean and declutter. Remember, we are not doing marathon cleaning sessions. I do a couple of minutes each day when I’m getting ready for bed or getting dressed in the morning. Check your bathroom (Zone 3) supplies – are you running low on toilet paper, toothpaste, or nail varnish remover? Add anything you need to your Errand List!

And a quick reminder that if you are just finding the Flylady system, please don’t start by detail cleaning. First we get our homes under control, by doing a short weekly clean of the high-traffic areas (not the whole house or every room!) of your home. Once that is working well, feel free to add in some deeper Zone cleaning. It’s always more fun to clean with friends! Want my company for the Weekly Home Upkeep Clean – then tap here!

And, last but not least, if you’re feeling tired and overwhelmed by your home (or by life in general), then you’re probably not looking after yourself! A wee bit of time spent on you each day will recharge your batteries! Why not make it bathroom-themed this week?

A pamper shower in the morning with your favourite summer-scented body wash, or relax before bed and have a bubble bath (I add a handful of epsom salts to my cold plunge tub in my “She-Shack”, the garden shed). Have a look through your makeup supplies and use something you haven’t worn for a while or why not paint your toenails – it’s finally time for summer sandals here in Copenhagen!

Have a brilliant day!

Hugs, Diane
