Your Wednesday reminders for simple living, cozy audiobooks and breezy morning bathing!

Good morning from the bathing bridge!

Three women smiling for the camera, wearing warm clothing and scarves, with wind-blown hair and a natural outdoor setting.

Rather breezy, so hang on to your hats…

View of a wooden pier with a white railing, leading to the sea at sunset. Small blue beach huts are visible on the left, with several dilapidated docks extending into the water.

And hang on to your towels!

Our al fresco breakfast was a little different today. Vibeke has just become a Granny for the second time (woo hoo!) so cheers with hot tea and some mini muffins, fresh from the bakers!

A selection of small cakes in a white box with a Danish flag on a stick, accompanied by a pink cup of tea, a glass bowl of apple slices and almonds, and a patterned Danish napkin, all placed on a wooden table.

Sun came out to play, and all is well with the world!

I’ve got a few anti-procrastination tasks on my list today… How about you?

How do I get started on those tasks I’ve been putting off? By setting my timer for 10 minutes, grabbing my cordless headphones to listen to music or an audiobook. Currently listening to “Murder Below Deck” by Orlando Murrin. A great cozy mystery so far!

Last week I listened to “Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers” by Jesse Sutanto. Loved it and have reserved the next book in the series from our library (through the Libby app).

Anyway, armed with my timer and headphones, off I go to pick up apples from our trees! (My dreaded chore in September…) I’m bagging up the cooking apples for my friends, many of them love to bake cakes, crumbles or make applesauce.

A close-up image of a basket filled with fresh, red apples with hints of green, arranged closely together.

Meanwhile our garden squirrels are hiding some early treasures from our walnut tree…

How are you enjoying the season. For me, autumn is tough. Give me spring or winter instead, please! But this simple weekly plan helps…

Have a fabulous day, wherever you are in the world!

Hugs

Congratulations Vibeke that’s so wonderful, grandchildren are the best! Here in Australia tomorrow is 1 October and daylight saving starts on Sunday. I love Spring! I enjoy my walks more seeing all the beautiful flowers. It’s always busy but I have my routines 😊

Thank you for your lovely autumn photos. They have brightened my day, especially the red squirrel preparing for the winter 😀

It’s supposed to be 90 here in Georgia today. Still feels like summer outside but inside my house the leaves are at their peak fall colors! The days are a little bit shorter and I have things nice a cozy, thanks to my routines! (I’m originally from Michigan so I miss the brilliant fall colors and cool crisp days.) My reward for getting to my anti-procrastination chores will be a swim in the pool with 4 of my 12 grands!! Enjoy this day y’all! Oh and congratulations to “V”! Being a grandmother (Mimi for me) is the greatest gift!

I bet Vibeke is the sweetest granny ever! 💕
When you said it was chilly and windy, I shivered – Brrr 🥶 even though I love the cooler weather. 🍂

Thank you so much for some new book reads. I’ve worked my way thru many of your authors and have really enjoyed them. We all so appreciate ALL your efforts, especially while you are juggling so many changes in your life! I too am downsizing from a family home to smaller digs after the kids have moved, and a 10 minute timer when faced with a box of kids drawings or other sentimental flotsam & jetsom has been a sanity saver. Best wishes in the new chapter of your world.

Ohh yay new book suggestions. I am back at work after being in beavrement leave so trying to do baby steps such as making the bed and self care kike my skincare. The world feels a bit upside down to me but am always so glad for your encouragement! P.S…its 94 degrees here and I live in the states..so odd…

I agree on autumn. It always meant the end of summer & time to leave my grandmother and go home for school. I was so sad then & still feel it to this day.
