Maundy Thursday in Copenhagen and the Easter break is in full swing! Easter (“Påske“) is a major holiday here and stores and businesses are closed on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday AND Easter Monday. The same in your corner of the world?

I started off the day with some mindfulness. A 75 minute Hot Aroma Relax Yoga class with my friend Sue…

Followed by a hot breakast…

Bacon, Egg and Cheese Roll brekkie at Wayne’s coffee shop (a Swedish cafe in the Nørrebro district).

Yum! They had such a wonderful selection of eats. Reasonable prices too (by Copenhagen standards)!

Then it was time to head home and start prep for family arriving. Stay tuned!

Have a fabulous day!
Hugs

In addition to Easter, we also celebrate Passover in the States because we’re an interfaith country… I love all the different faith traditions we celebrate here!🙏 And no, our businesses do not close for Easter thank goodness!! I can’t imagine any business being closed for four days 😲 Especially since I don’t prefer cooking on holidays 😆 We have a lovely little spot we take our son and our family for a fabulous Easter brunch🩷Namaste, Elizabeth in St. Louis
I wish it was more like that here in the US. Many years ago we lived in Gibraltar (Europe) for six months and loved the European lifestyle, especially the way shops would close from 2pm on Saturdays and open again on Monday mornings. It was wonderful, and Sunday was a true family day! Happy Easter and many blessings to you and your family! I love seeing and hearing what life is like in Denmark……..Thank you! J.🪷
Our stores in the US are open throughout all of the Easter holiday which I feel is unfortunate for the families of employees. Commercialism is king here and business hours are not family friendly. Schools close for at least Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Happy Easter to you and your family. Enjoy your time with your loved ones. So thankful for you and your videos 🙏😊
Happy Easter Diane and fellow followers 🙏🐣🐣. Here in Australia we only close for Good Friday but in the supermarkets on Easter Thursday you would think we were in Denmark 😂. I agree with Joy it’s the workers I feel sorry for though I guess with penalty rates some may prefer to work especially with the cost of living skyrocketing 😔.
I love reading and listening to you Diane, I get so, so much done when you’re in my ears 🤪. I have especially enjoyed your downsizing videos as that’s what we’ll be doing at the end of the year hopefully. Sadly our move is due to health reasons so it’s a forced move but never mind I plan on taking a lot less with us this time.
Oops I didn’t finish 🤦🏼♀️. Have a lovely relaxing Easter everyone, from beautiful sunny Victoria, Australia 🥳🥳
Hi Diane, I made a large batch of Hot Cross Buns last night and gave half a dozen to Dad’s lovely carer this morning. Today Dad celebrates his 98th birthday! I look after him in his house with help from carers. Really enjoy your videos and blogs, so thoughtful and inspiring. Working in my old office in Copenghagen (Ballerup) was my last trip before retirement and I so enjoyed Copenhagen in the evenings and hope to explore again when circumstances permit…
I was told May is a great time to plan a visit – festivals and blossoms?? 😊
Happy Easter!
