Snowdipping and 2026 Reset, Day 14

Happy Thursday! We are moving forward with our tiny tasks for a better life. Can you believe we are almost at the end of week three? Only one more week to go, so let’s make it count! But before we get into today’s 2026 Reset task, a few fun photos from yesterday…

Caught up with my friends Victoria and Sue, who came home with a whole bunch of medals from this weekend’s Danish Ice Swimmer Championships in Faaborg. Wonder women!

Then Sue and I enjoyed a quick snowdip and sauna.

A bit of snow underfoot right now!

No such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing. We are always ready for anything!

I made a little snowman, ha ha!

But back to business and today’s tiny 2026 Reset task!

How does your kitchen or dining table feel? Is it clear and calm, ready for your next meal? This is one of those small resets that makes everyday life feel easier! What are you planning to sit down and enjoy there next? We’re having a Swedish twist on shepherd’s pie tonight! I made a double batch the first time I made it, and froze the second. So I am off to pull it out of the freezer. Yay, easy peasy!

Have a lovely little Friday!

Hugs

Wow I would love to swim in the snow, but I’m 75km from the sea so I probably wouldn’t be able to get there 😊

Wow, that Swedish take on Shepherd’s pie looks delicious?! We’ll have to try that one one time! We’re having Salmon teriyaki tonight with rice and veggies.

Tonight we will have potato dumblibgs – “Schupfnudeln” with Sauerkraut . The table is cleanened and I applied some wood oil in honour of the occasion.

Lovely!!! I have part of a puzzle on the dining table—looks like I need to re-locate it, or decide a time to have fun working on it!!

Dining table is clear, but I’ll give it a little extra cleaning attention today. Also, a habit that I have been developing this year: When I empty the dishwasher in the morning, I set the table for the next meal we will be eating at the table, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. No sense in putting the dishes away only to have to get them out again!

Wait, you’re not giving us daily prompts all year long?! Ha, just kidding. You’re launching us into the year with good habits, so many thanks! We expect more snow tomorrow here in NC, so I’m cooking ahead. Gotta say that cabin fever is real and not fun after a week. I may break out a jigsaw puzzle, like one of the other commenters, and spend a few hours constructing a summer scene. Cheers, all! ❄️

Clara Parkes in her Daily Respite shared this quote from Henry Wordsworth Longfellow:
“Each morning sees some task begun, each evening sees it close; Something attempted, something done, has earned a night’s repose”.

I must try your twist on shepherds pie! It’s one of my favorite meals and have never tried it with cream cheese. Yum!
