Please Don’t Shout! Cozy MINIMALIST Christmas 2025 Starts Very Soon!

Did you guess it? Yesterday I teased that something new and hygge was coming… and yes, it’s time to start our Cozy Minimalist Christmas Planning for 2025! (Well done to those who guessed correctly!)

Now, before you shout at me — we’re not putting up Christmas trees just yet! This is simply about gentle, early planning to make the season calm, joyful, and full of hygge. Spending less money, slowing down and concentrating on the traditions that mean something to our family. Over the next six weeks, we’ll be getting our homes ready (using the Flylady Zones, of course!), taking care of our wellbeing, and preparing for a peaceful Christmas — the Diane in Denmark way, woo hoo!

There will be a free printable planner so you can follow along each week. I’ll publish it here in a few days.

Will you be joining me this year? Did it make a difference last year? Or do you still think it’s way too early? Let me know below! A friend told me last week that she’s always thought I was crazy doing Christmas prep in October — but after feeling so frazzled last year, she’s decided to join us this time and give it a go, yay!

Hugs

Been looking forward to you announcing this, thank you Diane! ❤️
Very excited to get started and to enjoy the preparation for this special season! 🌟
All wrapped up in Hygge, of course! ✨🕯️✨

I guessed it! LOL! I think it is SO helpful to start brainstorming gift ideas for people this time of year so I can make a budget and plan for when I am going to shop. Looking forward to the printable!

Yay! So excited to begin prepping for the holidays! I want a peaceful holiday season, but I love doing all the things, and the best way to have both is to start planning now. Thank you for all you do, and thank you for helping us take things step by step. As a mom of three with a full time job and more, your videos bring peace and inspiration to my life! May the Christmas prep hygge be with you!

It’s my favorite time of year: Getting ready for Christmas with Diane!!! Can’t wait! 🎄🕯️❄️🔔🎁

I was thinking it was time to get my Christmas planner set up! So excited to get started and hopefully ENJOY the season vs. just muddling through. Thanks!!!

I’ve been converted! I followed along two years in a row but didn’t do it last year. I am hoping to never skip again because it’s just so much more stressful, cluttered and haphazard without this plan. Thanks, Diane! 💛 Love from Los Angeles

I am 63 now. When I was in college, I was taking a summer course. One day, it was a hot, August day. I have always enjoyed writing letters and sending cards. I had my Christmas cards, address labels, and maybe even stamps. I prepared 40 cards. I had the time. And I knew that in Dec. I would have finals and travel. In early Dec., I went back and wrote individual notes and then mailed the cards.

Depending on peoples traditions, there can be a lot of components to Christmas. I am by myself now and I don’t do a lot. But I think starting in Oct. is a great idea. We also have the US Thanksgiving Day.

Thank you Diane! I’m always a long-term-ahead-planner (doesn’t always turn into doing, tbh) and was intending to call up your series from last year, to try actually to implement some of it. :-D. Thank you for the link and the ideas for this year too!

I am in!!! I followed the FLY lady system Christmas preparation the last 3 years. With a grain of salt “not too strictly”, though. A good mix between planning and having fun and most importantly focusing on a good, warm Christmas athmosphere in my family.
I must confess that I already have bought many of my presence and am hiding them now :-). Looking forward to your guidance this year,,Diane.

I’m onboard, Diane! I’ve already printed my FL Control Journal and put it in my Holiday planner. I like to compare the current year’s gift ideas with the gifts that worked/bombed in previous years. I also keep all my holiday recipes in this notebook so I can start shopping for shelf-stable goods well in advance. No idea what Christmas will feel like in the US this year 😳 but I’m gonna do my best. Cheers!

Christmas will be very different for my family starting this year. Actually planning, and being proactive for our new traditions will be comforting. I’d like to learn more about building a warm hygge atmosphere. ❤️Thank you!

We’ve minimised our family celebrations of Jesus’ Birthday so much last year that we now no longer need to plan anything at all hahahaha! 😀 We get together on a day that suits everyone and just enjoy spending time in eachothers company. No gifts, our presence is gift enough to each other. My dear dad died just a few months before Christmas last year and it was the very worst Christmas I’d ever had as he was the person who our whole family’s Christmas celebration centred on and around as he used to plan most of the food. 🙁 It was awful. We just focus on God now and give thanks for whatever we have got and eachother! Spending time together with whatever loved ones still remaining with us and thanking God for the gift of salvation through His precious Son has to be the best way to celebrate the festive season in my humble opinion. 😉

Yay!!! I love planning for Christmas – I’m busy with my big annual musical theatre show this weekend but after that I start planning for Christmas and it makes it so so much easier – thank you for sharing your holiday photos it all looked amazing (you are so good at capturing the moment!).

May the Christmas planning hygge be with you xx

Definitely makes a difference Diane, even the little things all add up if left to the last minute.
I found it so nice to be a wee bit organised. Thankyou for sharing your wisdom .

I am so pleased you are doing this again. It makes a difference and helps to keep me calm on the run up so I’m not frazzled for the big day 💕

I’m looking forward to the early planning as I tend to get easily overwhelmed when it’s getting closer to Christmas. Last month my lovely new daughter in law brought me back a very pretty Danish Advent candle from Copenhagen! I’m so glad I can enjoy it for a few weeks on my dining table before December but I’m very tempted not to burn it at all and enjoy it ever after! It has a delicate floral and bird design so it’s suitable for all year round hygge 🥰!

Let’s give it a try! I’m usually resistant against early Xmas planning. But maybe it is a good place to start getting organized cause I’m sure it can be a joyfull project going this way with your help!

Looking forward to the next 6 weeks! First time prepping for Christmas with you and our dear Flylady! ( I usually tell myself I cannot do this this early but I’m determined to give it a go!)

I was just thinking about this yesterday. Your video is very timely and I think it is wise to begin preparations now before life gets so busy that it becomes stressful.

I am having a Christmas swap party to get rid of things I don’t need and get to the thrift store for people who do need and then know what I’ll have left to start my holiday planning.
