Happy Tuesday from Copenhagen! I’m a little nervous but excited for today—my live appearance at the Get Organized Conference, the biggest organizing event in the world! I’ve already grounded myself with my Morning Routine (cold plunge, hot coffee, and a candle to start the day) and now it’s time to get to work. And speaking of work, this week we’re in Flylady Zone 2—the kitchen, the heart of the home—so let’s roll up our sleeves and make some quick progress together!

Remember, we’re not aiming for perfection. Just a few small, consistent steps will make a big difference over time. Set your timer for 5–10 minutes, pop on some music, and let’s get started! Want me to clean and declutter together with you? Use one of my body doubling videos! Not working in the kitchen this week? Skip to a different area!
Here are 3 quick things you can do in the kitchen this week:
- Wipe down the kitchen counters. Just move items to the side, wipe down and remove the crumbs and random bits of fluff that seem to gather there, ha ha! So much more inviting when you start cooking.
- Sort out ONE drawer or tidy ONE shelf. Toss odd tupperware lids, expired herbs and spices and say goodbye to machines, gadgets or utensils that you never use or are broken. Small declutters add up!
- Shine the sink (always a Flylady favourite!) or wipe down an appliance. A sparkling sink or gleaming coffee maker can really lift your mood!

Want to do a little more this week? Use my list for inspiration but don’t try and do it all!

Remember to add a little hygge to your space, something that will put a smile on your face! I love putting out a fresh teatowel as part of my Evening Routine when I clean up the kitchen after dinner. Here are my current favourites – one from a vacation to the French Riviera, and the other two were gifts from my friends Angela in Copenhagen and Suzanne in Florida.

And I do hope you’ll come along and support me later today when I’ll be presenting my class on Decluttering without Guilt: Hosting a Swap Party, followed by the Live Q & A, at the Get Organized Conference! Over 100,000 people have registered this year—fun! It’s not too late to get your FREE TICKET to the whole event!

And if you’re looking for more tips on meal planning and grocery saving, you’ve still got time to catch the speaker presentations from Monday’s schedule at Get Organized (available for 24 hours)! If you’ve got the All Access Pass, you have lifetime access and can watch when it suits you. I’ve been listening to the sessions while I do my chores – keeps me motivated and I got some new ideas of what to cook using what I have in my freezer, yay! Today I’ll be listening in to some of the sessions on saving money (said the Canny Scot!) and wardrobe. I have the All Access Pass and have already watched Kati Kiefer’s excellent session on “How + Why to Try a No Spend Challenge” – she walks you through the entire process and I’m inspired to do one next week! Oh, and you can find my own class in the What do do with clutter category.

But back to our own kitchens! Remember, we are just making things a little better every day: progress not perfection! See you later today, wish me luck!

Hugs
