In today’s round up! This week’s paper clutter Challenge (Our Flylady October Habit), a cleaning reminder plus…it’s time to hygge!


Are the days getting shorter where you are in the world? In Copenhagen we “lost” 30 minutes of daylight DAILY compared to last week – yikes! This is the time of year that I like to add extra hygge to my morning routine. A quiet way to start my day when it’s pitch black outside!


Our new Flylady Habit of the Month: banishing paper clutter! Join me in a weekly challenge where we’ll conquer those piles and declutter those pesky papers TOGETHER. Your mission for this week – should you chose to accept it – is any one (or all!) of the following!

MAGAZINE MAKEOVER – declutter old magazines. Do you really need to hang on to them? Check your subscriptions – do you have time to read them? Our local library has most magazines and newspapers available in paper format or online for free!

TRAVEL TREASURES – maps, receipts from hotels, city guides, bits n’ bobs!

DESK DRAWER DIVE (or Kitchen Drawer Dive) What’s lurking in there? Set a timer for 5 minutes and toss, toss, toss!

Did you miss last week’s paper clutter challenge? We worked on decluttering the following… Reference books, kids artwork and old school projects, take out menus /coupons, junk mail, anything attached to the fridge!


As it’s Wednesday (Anti-Procrastination Day), here’s a friendly reminder that your cleaning doesn’t have to be perfect! Just start and see how much you can get done! Keep your home sparkling this week (with minimal effort and minimal cleaning products…) the Flylady way! ๐Ÿกโญ๏ธ Spend just 10 minutes on each task. Not the WHOLE HOUSE! Just the areas you use daily… It’s all about consistency, not perfection! ๐Ÿ’ช Can’t do 10 minutes? Do 5! ๐Ÿคฉ And get the kids to help or work on their own rooms! ๐Ÿคธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿคธโ€โ™€๏ธ

๐Ÿงผ Dust flat surfaces
๐Ÿงน Vacuum floors
๐Ÿ’ฆ Quick mop the floors
๐ŸชŸ Shine mirrors and glass (I do the insides of the windows in the Zone, this week Zone 2!)
๐Ÿ›๏ธ Change your sheets
๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Take out recycling/trash/food waste
๐Ÿ“„ Declutter papers/newspapers/mags

Set a timer to keep you on task โฒ๏ธ And – voilร  – just like that, your home will feel fresh and cozy! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’ซ Add a candle or plant for some hygge! ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿชด๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ

And for those of you who are ready to take your cleaning to the next level, try adding in one single session of cleaning and/or decluttering in this week’s Flylady Zone 2, the kitchen. Remember: the aim is to do a few things, not complete the list.
