DD9 looks like me (see here), has similar character traits (um, did someone say stubborn?!) and – yes, yes -she’s also extremely enthusiastic about the things that she loves and just can’t ‘get her arms down‘…
I discovered yesterday that she has – hooray, hooray – inherited one of my amazing talents! My ability to guess a song within the first second, or the first few bars. Which may not sound like much to you, but has been my saving grace on many occasions. At music quizzes. When discussing music with friends and fiercely defending my position as the know-it-all Music Police. Or down at the disco. When you a) need to get on to the dancefloor as soon as humanly possible when the DJ starts mixing in your favourite track and b) need to get off the dancefloor as soon as humanly possible when the DJ starts mixing in an artiste that you ‘Do Not Dance To’.
Here’s the track DD guessed. And she guessed it before the music started, just from the sound of the subway train… [Magtens Korridorer – “Pandora”]
I have to say, it brought chills to my spine. Because it took me right back in time – to when I, too, was just a young whipper snapper – to the opening seconds of this song… [The Jam – “Down in the tube station at midnight”]
Have a fantastic Friday, a wonderful weekend and let’s keep those ears open! 🙂
