It’s Tuesday which means it’s craft day here on the blog. Today I’ve got another kiddies craft for you and yes – in true Flylady style – it shouldn’t take more than the magic 15 minutes to make! ๐
We’re going to make a reindeer or – to be more precise – Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Prepare to say ‘awwww’….
You’ll need:
- a (willing) child
- coloured paper or carton (e.g. brown, red, white)
- scissors
- glue or sticky tape
- pens or white and black ‘dot’ stickers or googly-eyes
Get the child to draw round their foot on a piece of brown carton. Sometimes easier said than done! Cut out. This is the reindeer’s head.
Now take a piece of white carton and draw round the child’s two hands. Cut out. These are the reindeer’s antlers.
Glue the lot together thus… Draw on some eyes, stick on googly-eyes or, as we did, use a large white sticker and a smaller black sticker.
Draw a circle on a piece of red carton. Cut out. This is the reindeer’s nose. Rudolph’s nose…if you actually used red carton! ๐
Voilรก – a reindeer is born ๐
You can use these as Christmas cards (write your message on the back) or attach a string to the top of the head and hang them in windows as Christmas decorations. Or stick to the reindeer’s head to a larger piece of paper, laminate the whole shabang, and you have a child’s placemat. The creative part is up to you!
Also makes a great gift for the family who will coo over the size of the child’s feet and hands. How do I know that? Because I have one that DS9 made in kindergarten…and we hang it up every year! ๐ Enjoy!
Oooh this looks like fun! Bookmarking to do with Zack closer to the time. ๐
Thanks Marylin. Will, of course, expect pics of the finished article on your blog! LOL
It's an International Sensation -we do this in my class during the holidays too!
LOL Candace! Reindeers of the World Unite! ๐
