Copenhagen Kitchen – week 9

OK, OK, so I shouldn’t have been so cocky last week and told you that things were going swimmingly with the new kitchen… Because on Tuesday the poor kitchen-fitter came down with a bad bout of the flu and was off ill for the rest of the week! šŸ™

But – praise the Kitchen Gods – he is now fully recovered and arrived (along with the architect) at 8am this dreary, Monday morning – yay! They are working as fast as they can, and (fingers crossed, knock on wood, 7-9-13 as they say here in Denmark) we should be more or less back on schedule.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, the plumber is coming to connect the sink and fancy pancy American fridge. Yep, iced water, icecubes and crushed ice – did someone say frozen margaritas??

Wednesday it’s the electrician’s turn.

Thursday I think it’s the plasterer or the painter. Or maybe both šŸ˜‰

So all in all it’s going to be an(other) exciting week. I promise to take lots of photos of the work in progress and add them to my album over at Picasa.

See you next Monday with a progress report and – who knows – maybe even a shiny sink? šŸ™‚

The best thing about a new kitchen when you’re a child?

Why, the gigantic cardboard boxes, of course! šŸ™‚

  1. I am so excited for you! Can't wait to see the new pix. Your kids are having an adventure too..

  2. Thanks H! Hardest part now is deciding which meal to make to celebrate the 'opening' of the kitchen… Thinking that, at the very least, a large batch of brownies is on the cards! šŸ™‚

  3. Hi, I am visiting my son and his family in Copenhagen from Canada. I found your blog by searching for "crockpot Denmark" – I would like to buy them one but don't know where to find one. Any suggestions?

I love visiting them in Denmark and hope to be able to spend more time here, especially to work on my Danish. Nice blog!

  4. Hi Sue! Thanks for stopping by and your kind words! šŸ™‚

Unfortunately slowcookers haven't quite made it to the shops in Denmark yet… I got my one online pretty cheap from ebay in Germany Just search for slowcooker. Postage to Denmark isn't usually a problem.

I did a quick google myself and came up with this Danish site

Good luck and enjoy your visit! šŸ™‚

  5. Thanks, Diane – I think I will order one from Germany. It will make a tremendous difference, especially with 2 little boys who want to eat as soon as they get home from day care….I appreciate the tip.
