Crockpot Applesauce

The Flylady‘s culinary sidekick Leanne Ely from http://www.savingdinner.com/ sent out a recipe for crockpot applesauce last week. I’ve been thinking of doing this for a while – because I have a glut of apples from the garden, and at the moment I’m buying applesauce in a jar from the supermarket to make my Porridge Pancakes. So it would, of course, make sense for this canny Scot to make it herself! ūüėČ

So in the interests of science and my blogfollowers, I’m going to try it out for you…

I chopped up about 20 cooking apples (only removed the cores and any obvious bad bits). Threw it all into my biggest crockpot (6 litres, I think), and it came almost up to the top. Sprinkled on some cinnamon and pushed in a couple of vanilla pods. No water. No sugar. Put on the lid. Switched on low. And off we go. Looks like this so far:

Will update the post with progress reports – see youse soon! ūüôā
