It’s Day 18 of our Tiny Tasks Challenge but first… Does the sea ever freeze over where you live? If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I am a keen winterbather and ice swimmer! Yesterday I met up with my Danish besties, Vibeke and Helene, and for the first time in several years we were unable to get into the sea.

All the stairs are iced up!

The sea in Copenhagen has frozen over. A sight to behold! The normally crashing waves and powerful force of nature turns in to slush ice and then, after days of freezing Easterly winds, completely ices up.
Perhaps we’ll be able to get in and dip and hold lumps of ice haha as we have done before in previous years but right now it’s just too dangerous to access. As always, safety first!

Isn’t Mother Nature incredible?
But we did enjoy a little picnic that we had brought along to keep us warm. I had made my Mum’s famous minestrone soup. Vibeke brought along rye bread for our soup, plus marcipan sweets and liquorice pipes.

Helene brought hot mango tea and Petit Ecolier biscuits. Yum!

In other news, we have just three days left of our 2026 reset! I’ve been given you daily prompts with tiny tasks for the last four weeks. I have done all the thinking for you. You just need to put in five or ten minutes effort and stand back and be amazed at the results!
So, what are you going to tackle today? I have a box of donations and a library book to drop off!
Stay warm out there!
Hugs

Add Yours →Hi Diane,
Thank you for the daily tasks. It is very useful in getting back on track.
I hope you don’t mind me saying but, for those who wish to do something else, I think Flylady is in Zone 1 this week, not Zone 2. I was a bit confused as I get emails from you both.
With thanks for all you do.
Meg.
Wow that sea is incredible. What an amazing sight. Hopefully the weather will warm up and you can have a dip soon 😉
Thank you for the reminder Diane. I got an email from the library that my card needs renewing. That was two weeks ago and I completely forgot about it! Also there’s a lightbulb in my little entrance that needs to be replaced. It even is in easy reach so today’s the day. I’ll miss your little daily nudges and will just replay them next week. They are doing me a world of good, it was a great idea, thank you Diane 🥰💐
Good morning, Diane! I can hear the wind blowing! You are adventurous to even be out there! The iced over waves makes me feel like pulling up my blankets and hibernating. Today I am going to post 2 new items to FB Marketplace and remove one that has been up for quite a while but not sold. That item will go in my donation box.

By the way I had forgotten about the liquorice pipes, a favourite from my childhood in Germany 💖
I had totally forgotten the liquorice pipes. They have been my favourites in my childhood in Germany. And marzipan…… yummy 😍🤗
Meanwhile, here in Boise, Idaho we still have no snow. Very strange.

No, the sea never freezes over where I live Diane, but it does get so warm that it is like warm bath in the Summer time and I honestly wonder how the sea creatures don’t cook in it being so warm?! Ugh?! Not fun in the heat! You go trying to cool off from the scorching sun and get disappointed that it’s not a refreshing experience?! The joys of tropical waters in hot Summertime?! 😀
Wow!! Those photos are beautiful
Today I cleaned my wellies – they look like new!!
Thanks for the gentle shove!
Have a great day!
Thank you for the nudge today Diane. I have a list of annoying little tasks I’ve been putting off so I’m going to crack on with them when I get back from the vets appointment this morning. I booked the vet check up for today on Weds anti- procrastination day as I always dread taking the cat to the vets. It’s such a hard task as even getting her in the carrier is stressful then she wails the whole way there in the car. So, today is all about getting those jobs done and ticked off ✅ Thank you for the motivation as always 💛
I finally sewed the buttons down on two pairs of lined pants! They were barely hanging on! It was a fine time to get the tiny task done before I loosing them! Love the tiny tasks!
The ice is amazing to see, and the sweets are *so* cute!!! Thank you for sharing.
Yesterday I finished a quilt top that will be gifted to my son’s girlfriend for her graduation in May. Waiting for the backing to arrive then I’ll send everything off to be quilted. Today is a workout and paperwork/computer spreadsheet day (which I admittedly I procrastinated on yesterday) and tonight choir practice. It is still very cold here in southern Indiana. Blessings everyone!
Today I’m going through a drawer in the kitchen I’ve put off since I moved here nearly 7 years ago! It’s full of utensils for cooking and baking. I’m sure I use only half of them. Time to pass them on!
Thanks Diane. These daily videos have been a great encouragement. I am suffering from serious back pain right now but I’ll take a look at what I might small, procrastinated tasks I might do from a chair :).
There are a few emails that need replies and a card or two to send out for birthdays of dear ones.
Have a great day everyone!
Amazing to see the sea frozen! No, it never does that here (close to the Pacific coast of Washington State in the USA). Even if the air temperatures hold below freezing the water is too warm and the waves too rough. And the coast is protected from east winds by the Coast Range. Every few years there might be a sprinkle of snow on the sand and we are all astonished at the sight. 🙂 Your by-the-sea meal looks just wonderful. I’m sure you three were kept warm and cozy from the food and the companionship. Now off for my 10 minutes! Thank you for sharing with us! 🙂
Wow! What an amazing sight to see the sea frozen over. Incredible! Thank you so much for the past few weeks of daily tasks:)
I tackled my email in-box, where messages go to die. I often take several days before checking my email, so it feels like a huge nuisance to delete all the junk that piles up. Today I timed the work—under five minutes! Lesson learned.
Also I’ve just realized from your videos how discreet the ladies area is at your swim club. I always wondered how you balance the necessary privacy for skinny dipping with being in a rather open place. Makes sense now. Stay warm everyone! ❄️
Diane, I can’t tell you how much we appreciate you and all the work that you do , so pleasant seeing your culture in Denmark. It’s a lovely travel brochure. I would love to come see your land. Thank you so much for leading us on .these tiny prompts they are priceless ,manageable time chunks that we can achieve. Marta
