Day 9 of our 2026 Reset and Seadipping below freezing

Good morning from Arctic Copenhagen, brrrr! Photos of yesterday’s skinnydip in the sea with my Danish Besties coming up but first up, here’s your tiny task for a better life today!

Three women smiling together outdoors in winter attire, with scarves and gloves. One woman holds a helmet and stands in front, while the others are slightly behind, all in a park setting.

Can you believe we are already on Day 9 of our 2026 Reset? We have been working together for almost two weeks, woo hoo! Making things a little better, one step at a time, one day at a time.

I used up the last of our Christmas mincemeat in a microwave mug cake the other day. Yum! Today I’m checking our pantry and freezer… What do you have in there? But back to our dip!

A person's legs standing on a snow-covered wooden deck, wearing beige fluffy slippers and a fringed, light-coloured shawl.

It was below freezing yesterday with strong winds which made for a rather brutal bike ride. But we are still standing, and still smiling!

Three women standing by the water, smiling at the camera. One woman wears a blue striped towel and a matching beanie, while the others are wrapped in towels and scarves in shades of blue and white.

The seaweed is freezing over at the edge of the water.

Coastal view with a rocky shore, calm waters, and a cloudy sky. The scene includes trees in the background and a grassy area along the shoreline.

When we have a couple of weeks with these conditions, the sea completely freezes over here. A sight to behold!

Three women in bathrobes smiling for a selfie by a frozen lake, with icy conditions and snowy landscape in the background.

This is me, STANDING on the sea, in 2021!

A smiling woman wearing a red beanie and a fluffy white coat, standing on a snowy waterfront with ice-covered ground and a lighthouse in the distance.

Have a fabulous day and don’t forget to tootle off and do your tiny task! I will be cheering you on with my pom poms!

Hugs

Nice coincidence as I remembered some frozen minced meat yesterday which I used today to prepare leck-mushroom-soup 😀

Some sauces, ketchup and mustard needed to leave, already expired some months ago. Today was their last day in our fridge.
Diane, thank you for the daily videos. Without any advertisement, so nice.

I’ve been working thru our freezer and pantry in January trying to use up before I restock. We’re expecting an inch of ice so we’ll be stuck for days so plenty of chances to get creative and use items with the need to cook 3 meals a day.

I was going to skip my indoor swim today because of the cold but you and the ladies out in the sea are doing it, so I have NO excuse!

I find your videos so inspiring and helpful!! I’ve found the small steps for 2026 Reset very useful. Love your pictures … how you all manage that cold water is just beyond my comprehension – it really does work because you all look so happy!! xx

Oh my gosh Diane?! Your sea pictures are the exact opposite of my sea views today?! Been hiking in the heat at Agnes Water in tropical sunny Queensland Australia looking at turquoise and azure blue waters?! I’ve been drinking that iced water like crazy today hahahaha?! We’re enjoying the last few days of our Summer school break before it’s back to school next Wednesday. Fridge prompt is so great! Thanks for that!! Woohoo!! We’re on a roll!! 😀

I did this task on Tuesday, the day before our trash/recycling pick-up. Cleared the fridge shelves and bins to make space for fresh groceries and home-cooked goods. Yea me! I am stocked to the gills now as we await a massive ice storm across the American South. All preps done, all emergency gear in place, all secure against an outage and to share as needed in our neighborhood. Stay warm, everyone!

Mission completed! A whole dinner made out of left overs in the fridge. feel proud🙃warmest greetings to you Diane!

Diane – you and your besties are amazing!! I cannot imagine. As we await 12 inches (at least) of snow (and ice) this weekend, I have been planning meals with what we have in the fridge and hopefully limiting what we need to buy. Some ideas for using our veggies are veggie curry (with leftover chicken for us carnivores) and cabbage/vegetable soup. Thanks again Diane!!

I went through mine last week as well, but I have an extra turkey breast that I should cook up as well as some Christmas cookie dough that needs to be used. Also, I cleaned out my tea drawer–How did I end up with 3 boxes of the same flavor? I put a date of March 31st on them. If we haven’t drunk them by then, out they go…

I don’t have anything in the refrigerator or freezer from the holidays; I’m pretty intentional about using things up so as not to waste; I think easier for me as I cook only for myself. However, I’ll look at the condiment items…they can sneak up expiry dates on me.

Happy Thursday❣️

Greetings, Diane! Loving these daily tasks.❤️ Yup, found some chicken for dinner in the freezer part of our fridge and some frozen chicken bones to make chicken stock..so into the crock pot they go to enjoy as soup tomorrow. Joy is in the everyday!
See you tomorrow.

I am curious as to how to make a mincemeat mug cake?!? I do have some leftover, especially since I broke my hip in early December and didn’t get to use it at Christmas…. I am still enjoying the tips for one thing to do each day. Some I can do and some I will save until I am more mobile.
Thank you so much for a year of simplify! That word sums up what I need very well.
Sara
