Winterbathing week in Copenhagen. The snow is here!

Have you been outside for a little fresh-air self-care this week? It’s been a wonderfully chilly week of dips here — and the snow arrived! Here’s a roundup…

Saturday morning highjinks with my Copenhagen Bluetits Chill Swimmers peeps! Freezing temperatures, crunchy snow and ice underfoot — definitely an “ice, ice baby!” morning. Nothing stops these crazy ladies!

Snow dip and sauna session! A glorious blast of icy sunshine with my friend Angela. Built a mini snowman, three cold sea dips, hot sauna…and relax!

Early Morning Beaujolais Nouveau dip! A local International Grocer shop arranges this fun, yearly event — we dipped, then enjoyed a glass of Beaujolais and French sausage as the snow started to fall at 8 o’clock in the morning! Pure magic. “Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé à Copenhague!”

Two dips with my Danish Besties
Always a highlight spending time with Vibeke and Helene! Bike ride, cold water, hot tea and a good chat. Plenty of laughs to keep us going when the world seems to be going to hell in a wheelbarrow, ha ha!

Stay warm, stay well!

Hugs

Hi Diane,

I just finished reading this e-mail. I received an e-mail from the store, World Market. They have a picture and the name of the wine you mentioned. I recognized it right away.

I like your mini-snowman!

Have a good week.

Lorraine

Beaujolais!
That was all a lovely occasion. It is fun to read about your adventures . I’m cutting back on news and trying to just enjoy what is around me. I’ll remember what you are doing!

You all make the snow and freezing weather look fun! We are off to enjoy the Christmas Market event here. Was looking forward to some warm spiced wine but it’s 27C here so it will be a cool crispy iced drink 😂we are going to attempt to make Gløgg whenever it gets cooler again- we have all the ingredients waiting – probably faster to fly back to Copenhagen 😂🥰 Enjoy your winter dips – they look magical!!!

Lovely!
I’m enjoying morning hikes with my dog and after dinner walks on my own. Just 20 min is such a great reset! Getting cold and a bit snowy🐶❄🐿🐻🦌. Also savoring fresh fruit with greek yogurt and a bit of maple syrup, with a square of dark chocolate after dinner each day. A lovely treat.

Hi Diane,
I enjoyed my little ice swimming/winterbathing routine today in our river in the city.
Airtemp. -6, WT 1,6 (Celsius) and full of sunshine … (first „official“ ice-swimming-temperature this season, since last week the watertemp. still was over 5 dagrees).
I was frozen to the ground in my flipflops today, but it was so much fun! I really need to get one of those fluffy ones, that you and your friends have, without the toe divider… another item for my wishlist😉
Thanks for your pictures, I always enjoy your blog posts.

Have a nice time!

Sonja

Good to see you this evening. You are my brave winter warriors. I did swim for an hour tonught in our community pool. Sunsetting and a new sliver of a moon above.

You are a polar bear! I went for runs and to the gym last week. The weather is getting cold and days are shortening so rapidly. We also did sone decoration for Advent (= 4 weeks before Christmas), played cardboard games in the festive living room and I went to the Theater. And writing this down, I am realizing that there is so much beauty, love and brightness in my life.
