Minimalist Christmas 2025 | Week 2: Food, Living Room & Hygge (FREE Printable)

Is this your first year planning along with me — or are you back for another round of calm and cozy prep? Here we go with Week 2 of our Cozy Minimalist Christmas Planning 2025! (Did you miss Week One? Click here for the video and FREE printable!)

This week, our focus is all about food — festive meals, stocking up on non-perishables, and getting ahead before the shops (and our calendars!) get busy.

We’re also working in Flylady Zone 5, the living room, so let’s give it a quick refresh and make it our cozy hub for the darker evenings.

A checklist titled 'Zone 5 - living room' that outlines cleaning and decluttering tasks. The cleaning section includes tasks like dusting, vacuuming, and changing decorations. The decluttering section lists items such as books, toys, and household linens.

Our wellbeing focus this week is all about comfort — refresh your pamper basket, do a little journaling, or take five minutes for a word puzzle or crossword. Get your free printable checklist (below) and start creating a calmer, more hygge season, one small step at a time.

A worksheet titled 'Minimalist Christmas Planning' for week 2, focusing on food, living room organization, and wellbeing tips for a cozy holiday season.

If you prefer to make your own notes, go ahead — or you can customise my template on Canva by clicking here.

How’s your Week 2 going? Have you started thinking about festive food, or maybe freshened up your living room for the season? I’ve added a couple of extra cushions to the sofa – I love anything white and fluffy!

Hi, Diane and fellow planners 🙂 Thank you for this second week of encouragement. I am printing the printables and putting them in my “Holiday Planning” book where I keep pages for our family Harvest/Halloween party, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
White and fluffy pillows are wonderful. I will pick up some new pillows this week — ours are ancient and dirty and unwashable!
A blessed and hygge week to you,
Emmelia

Great tasks this week, Diane!

I assigned the hubs to speak with his family about the ever-mounting burden and cost of gift giving as the family expands; it has become not only time-consuming but quite expensive. I told him he can negotiate a more economical alternative or do all the shopping for all of them this year. He’s highly motivated now. Rah rah rah!!

I do Wordle and Connections with 2 former colleagues and my niece. It’s a nice way to connect with others while using my brain! I need to talk with my family about scaling back on gifts. I love finding the perfect present for everyone but it’s become very expensive and stressful. Just not sure where to start….

I feel the same way too about giftgiving. And after the holiday or birthday is over, I wonder if I have done enough. Maybe this year would be the year to ask for the gift of time with Family. Make a date, plan an event, just spend an evening together. That sounds wonderful to me.!

You have inspired me to put up twinkle lights early this year. Maybe also to include some warm and cozy flannel plaid pillow covers or little throws at the end of the bed. Thanks!

I changed all the batteries in my candles and corrected all the timers (due to the clock change) a thorough hoovering and fresh blankets, last night it was so cosy and calm the ultimate Hygge!! Thank you for inspiring us all x

Hi
I think I will wash the poinsettia sofa throw. And air fluff sofa cushions including 2 poinsettia/cardinal bird cushions.
Yes, I plan to bake holiday fruit bars soon and freeze. Yummy!
Thank you.Opal
