Autumn Evening Hygge in the Rain!

Do you have any nice plans for this evening? Meeting friends, watching a favourite TV show, working out? I usually enjoy staying home on these dark autumn nights in Copenhagen (it’s dark by 6pm now). Tonight the weather is a little crazy with heavy rain (coming in sideways) and high winds!

But that’s all the more reason to ramp up the hygge!

So Angela and I braved the elements and enjoyed an evening skinny seadip (three, actually) and the sauna in between. So relaxing and magical in the dark!

We warmed up afterwards with a hot cuppa tea, chocolate rice crackers topped with freeze dried raspberries, and digestive biscuits.

The lights on the horizon are so pretty!

Take time for YOU today. Perhaps do something a little crazy! Enjoy your evening, the weekend is on the horizon!

Hugs

I was feeling tired today and decided to take a 20 minute nap and make it hygge by adding a chunky blanket and just taking time to enjoy the afternoon.

I’ve returned from being out of town the past 2 1/2 weeks so I’m settling back in to being home. I printed your Week 1 Minimalist Christmas Planning sheet and tonight Hubby and I are watching American Football on TV. The weather is a little cooler here in Florida so I’m enjoying the lower temps, too.

Very similar weather here on Vancouver Island…longer coffee with walking friends because of shortened storm walk…wind clears the cobwebs from your brain….

Thank you for the inspiration. I’m looking forward to this evening as it’s the beginning of our one week break from school. Ready to welcome Autumn, though temperaturas here in the north of Spain are still quite high.
I’ll think of something hygge for this evening 😉
Have a wonderful weekend, Diane! 🥰🥰

I’m a new reader enjoying and being inspired by your blog and emails. Keep ’em coming! (Found you through DYT. Fellow T1 here 😉

My daughter is studying in Aarhus University and she sent videos of how crazy the weather was. She was riding her bike to the bus station and got completely soaked. She has a nice rain jacket but she needs to find some rain pants and waterproof gloves I think. We are from Washington state in the US and are used to rain, but Denmark might got us beat.
Thanks for your positive posts. I truly enjoy reading your posts and watching your videos. Stay warm this weekend. 🙂

I love this. Especially the lights on the horizon. Looks so relaxing and magical for sure. Had my monthly lunch with my bestie today. What would we do without friends!!!
Thank you for sharing.

Have a wonderful weekend, Diane! 🥰🥰

Where is your favorite spot for a “dip”, Diane? I’m in the US, but was fortunate to be invited to Ribersborgs Kallbadhus in November 2023. It was dark, blustery, cold and my first experience doing anything of the sort au natural. I’ll never forget it, it *was* magical! I return to Copenhagen about once a year, and am curious where a sauna and a sea dip might happen more casually. ❤️ (I’m not a strong swimmer, so a sea “dip” is literally that for me! Thank goodness for the ladders! 😂)

We are having a cup of mocha cappuccino mix with almond milk while we have reading time before dinner. Beautiful Autumn day here in the California Bay Area. I had a friend over for tea today and she brought assorted dumplings from the Chinese Dumpling place. I served my homemade maple-glazed baked donuts flavored with nutmeg and pots of Earl Grey Tea. We had a great gabfest. Was very Hygge!
