Happy Thursday — or “Little Friday” (Lille fredag) as we call it here in Denmark. It’s the unofficial start of the weekend, a lovely time to treat yourself a little or unwind with colleagues and friends. But before we relax, let’s make the most of Thursday’s Flylady focus: Errand Day! This is your chance to tick off those out-and-about to-dos — groceries, post office, pharmacy, library, book exchange, ironmonger (hardware store), etc. Grouping errands into one trip saves us time, money, and energy… no more wasted journeys!

Don’t forget your list and stick to it. The “back to school” displays are everywhere in Copenhagen right now — and I know it’s tempting to buy all the shiny new lunchboxes, sports bags, and stationery. But do yourself a favour and check what you already have at home first. Be honest… do you really need more pens?

However, this is a perfect week to stock up on essentials for Flylady Zone 3 (the bathroom). Did you see my post earlier this week with bathroom cleaning motivation? Click here for that!

Check your bathroom supplies and add anything you’re running low on to your shopping list.

I stocked up on toothpaste, deodorant and toilet paper when we were at our Swedish cabin at the weekend. Little language lesson for you. Toilet roll is called Toalettpapper in Swedish and Toiletpapir in Danish!

And I always get a laugh out of seeing all the Motörhead products! These are crunchy bacon chip snacks…

It must be so much fun to work in the Motörhead marketing department, ha ha!

Remember, you don’t need to stick rigidly to Flylady’s exact days for the daily focus — the magic is in having a Weekly Plan that works for you. Instead of carrying everything in your head, you can focus on one type of task at a time. It’s a simple, flexible structure that makes following through on plans so much easier…without the overwhelm!

Need help putting together routines that lighten your load or are looking for ways to get organized that don’t take lots of effort or time? Watch my Flylady Refresher Course on YouTube for step-by-step tips (and plenty of Danish hygge along the way).
So, what’s on YOUR Errand List today? Do you have a set day for running Errands? What’s your system? I keep a running list on the Google Keep app on my phone. Any time I think of something that we need to buy like flour, milk, tinned tomates, I immediately add it to my list.

Share in the comments so we can inspire and keep each other accountable! Oh, and in case you were wondering, the Motörhead BBQ sauce is actually really good!

Okay, that’s it from me – the heatwave continues here! Have a lovely “little Friday”!

Hugs

We have a rearranged routine (it changes often based on school, work schedules, and sports) so errands were yesterday for us! Today we are doing something fun- the zoo for a quick pop in, easy since I packed our bag yesterday for that.
Love the idea of ‘little Friday’ I am going to adopt that! I’ve ticked off some errands today – but they were done by phone – they still count though, right and posted two letters. So feeling like I deserve a treat! Thanks for sharing the shopping pics too, Diane. Also love your sunglasses!
My errand today was the parcel lockers and then my sled care has been a trip to the play park with my daughter followed by a little pop into the bakery for a treat.
We’ve then dug right into a fairytale craft box and made masks and decorated mirrors.
Next up is to reboot my laundry before starting dinner! Roll on evening routine
Made a trip to pick up odds and ends. Then fuel for my vehicle. Then I will off for a walk with the dog. Meat for dinner is thawing in the fridge. I will probably work on the bathroom this afternoon.
My Son went to Germany this morning to the DM shop to buy drugstore elements.
And for me the Speltmel/ Dinkelmehl.
It is so much cheaper overthere, than in my country, the Netherlands.
So I am very pleased.
Hi Diane, I can’t do all my errands in one day. For my schedule, I only plan one errand per day because I can’t be away from home for very long. So I spread them out and thankfully my errands are always close to home- very rarely do I have to drive more than a few miles from home. And I love Thursdays because I don’t have to cook- our local pub is across the street and they have my burger and martini waiting for me at six o’clock!!🤓🍔🍸Cheers! Elizabeth
I have been so blessed to have found you a few months ago! I do my errands on Thursday and today I took several boxes/bags to the local charity shop (decluttering) 🙂, stopped by the pet store to buy more food for our dog, made some returns at Costco, and popped by the bank. Thank you for all your encouragement and advice. 💕
So glad you are back after summer break. I love the tip for creating a digital list on your phone as a reminder. I can see me using one for grocery shopping. My daily focus for Thursday is Errands, so I stopped by the pharmacy and pet supply shop. Then, I visited a Little Free Library and exchanged books.
Thanks for keeping us on track Diane. You brighten up my day and inspire me to stay on task but have fun too🤩
Instead of keeping the grocery list on my phone, I keep a list of what’s in the aisles on the computer (the headers that hang above the aisle). Then print a few and as the family needs something they can write it in the correct aisle…Shopping list done!
I find I need to do errands (namely grocery shopping) at least twice a week. For the shopping list I use the Cozi app. It has our family calendar, our recipes, shopping list, and meal planning. I try to add things to the shopping list right away, and my husband and kids can add things too. When meal planning, I can click on the recipe and then send all of the ingredients to the shopping list as well. Then I just swipe away everything we already have. A lot easier for me than adding each ingredient manually.
You’re such an encouraging person, Diane! Thank you for everything you do! 🩷🦋🩷🦋
Thank you for the inspiration! I downloaded your website on my phone so that I can follow your guidance & helpful hints to the Flylady system!!
