New week, fresh start – kitchen week!

It’s a new week which means a fresh start! This week we’re in FlyLady Zone 2: the kitchen – the heart of the home for our detailed cleaning and decluttering. But don’t worry – we’re not scrubbing from top to bottom or spending hours deep cleaning. We’re keeping it light, hygge, and manageable…

Let’s clean and declutter!

Just 15 Minutes will get you moving!

Set your timer for 15 minutes and pick one or two things to do. Take a deep breath, open the fridge, clear out anything that is expired/hiding in the back of the veggie drawer. Wipe down the front of a couple of cabinets (not all of them). Clear out the cutlery drawer – how many veggie peelers do you use, are some of them blunt? Give the sink a deep clean. You don’t have to do it all – just do something! Progress over perfection, as always.

Feeling overwhelmed or looking for motivation to clean and declutter? Pop on one of my old “clean with me” videos and body double with me! I’ll be your virtual cleaning buddy and your 15 minute timer. (Here’s a good one from the archives!)

Clean and declutter with Diane in Denmark!

Don’t know where to start cleaning the kitchen? I have some simple ideas of what to clean and declutter – see my list below! Remember we are not doing marathon cleaning sessions. I do a couple of minutes each day when I’m waiting for the kettle to boil or dinner to cook. This week is also a good time to check your Zone 2 kitchen supplies (coffee, kitchen roll, etc) and add anything you need to your Errand List.

A cleaning checklist for the kitchen, titled 'Zone 2 - kitchen,' detailing decluttering, restocking, and project tasks to maintain an organized kitchen space.

Most Important of All: Take 5 Minutes for YOU

Forgive me if you’ve heard this one before but… Are you taking time for you each day? You are the heart of your home, so give yourself a little love too. Try out a new flavour of tea, watch your favourite TV show or take a few minutes outside in the sunshine…or skinnydip in the rain! Whatever makes you smile!

Hugs, Diane
