When EVERYTHING seems impossible? Here’s your ACTION PLAN

The holiday season is supposed to be magical, but for many of us, it can feel like we’re drowning in a sea of clutter, chores, and Christmas chaos! If you’re feeling overwhelmed, don’t worry! I’ve got a simple plan to help you get back on track—one step at a time. And trust me, it doesn’t have to be perfect. Let’s focus on progress, not perfection. Ready? Let’s dive in! Watch the video and find the Action Plan below. Save it for those times when everything seems impossible and you don’t know where to start!

ACTION PLAN

Step 1: Get Dressed and Hydrated

First things first—get dressed! Brush your hair, put on something comfy, and drink a glass of water. It might seem like a tiny step, but it sends a message to your brain: We’re ready to go! Personally, I always put on a bright lipstick to boost my mood—it brings back my superpowers!

And grab a basket or box. We’ll use it to collect anything that doesn’t belong in the room as we go along.

Step 2: 10-Minute Room Resets

Now, let’s reset three key areas of your home. We’re not aiming for perfection, just progress! Set a timer for 10 minutes and work as fast as you can. Ready? Let’s go!

First stop: The kitchen.

  • Clear the counters.
  • Wash or load the dishes.
  • Wipe down surfaces if you have time.

When the timer goes off, stop—no matter where you are. It’s not about perfection, it’s about making progress. Let’s move on!

Next: The living room.

  • Clear off the flat surfaces like the coffee table.
  • Fluff the cushions.
  • Pick up anything that doesn’t belong. Pop it in your basket or box and keep it moving.

Quick and easy!

Finally: The bathroom.

  • Toss dirty towels in the wash.
  • Hang up fresh towels.
  • Swish the toilet and make sure there is toilet paper.
  • Wash your hands and wipe out the sink.

Done! You’re making progress, and it’s already looking better.

Step 3: Get the Kids Involved

If you’ve got kids, get them involved! Use my Kids’ Weekly Upkeep Clean Chart, and let them work on their own rooms for 5 minutes on each task. When they’re done, reward them with something fun, like hot chocolate or a Christmas movie. It’s all about making it fun and manageable for everyone.

Step 4: Rest and Recharge

After all that hard work, it’s time to rest. Take a break, sit down with a hot drink, and give yourself a moment. Do a quick brain dump to clear your mind, or simply close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. This reset isn’t just for your home—it’s for you too!

Step 5: Add Some Festive Cheer

Let’s add a touch of Christmas magic! Take 10 minutes to decorate a small area, wrap a gift, or light a festive candle. These little touches make a huge difference and will help you feel that holiday spirit. Again, remember—focus on progress, not perfection.

Step 6: Repeat and Celebrate Your Wins

Repeat these steps as needed, but most importantly, celebrate your progress. Look around—your home feels calmer, doesn’t it? You’ve done amazing work today, and you should be proud of yourself.
