Let’s chat across the kitchen table! Grab a load of laundry to fold or clear out an office drawer! Today I’m talking about our Danish “clocks go back” tradition, our new Lockdown Restrictions and speaking at the Dressing Your Truth Weekend!
If you’re looking for a capsule wardrobe system, I can thoroughly recommend the Dressing Your Truth system (there is a free course on the website). Your best colours and styles are determined by your facial features/inner energy (my primary energy type is 1 with a secondary energy of 4). It has been lifechanging for me and makes getting dressed so easy! (I’ve made several YouTube videos about my wardrobe, see below.) I use the Flylady system to keep me organised and my daily routine includes choosing my outfit a day in advance (I check my diary/weather forecast to see what’s ahead). I hang my outfit on a hook on the back of our bedroom door and am ready to go the moment my feet hit the floor the next morning. I love having a morning routine which sets me up for a good day!
Happy Sunday! Schools were closed this week for the autumn break so it’s been rather quiet in these parts. Had some lovely sea swims with my Besties (start of the week was mild and sunny, by midweek it was blowing a gale and we needed our fluffy socks) and the sea temperature is now 10c/50f. And hubby and I spent a couple of wonderful days at our Swedish cabin. All in all a great week!

Happy Sunday! More mixed weather for us this past week in Copenhagen. From cool to hot, cold misty and foggy, torrential rain with cloudbursts and then back to summertime temperatures today! Certainly keeps it interesting… I’ve had fun this week making some new outfit combinations from my wardrobe – always good to do something a little out of your comfort zone!

Happy Sunday! Crazy weather this week here in wonderful Copenhagen…started off with a mini heatwave where I was able to wear my summer dresses and sandals. Then autumn came back full force mid-week and I needed my gloves, earmuffs, warm coat and wooly scarf for biking down to the sea for my morning skinny dips! The sea temp is currently 15c/59f. Come on in, it’s refreshing (remember to pack a yummy picnic breakfast)!

Happy Sunday! I’m not quite sure where this past week went – it seemed to pass in a flash – but autumn is very definitely in the air and I’ve looked out my gloves/earmuffs for biking down to the sea for my morning skinny dips! The sea temp is currently 16c/60f, air temp has been lower ⚓ (When I was a Girl Guide in Scotland our motto was “be prepared”, something to live by!) Let’s see those outfits!

Happy Saturday! What an absolutely fantastic week it has been – I was finally able to be together with my dear old Mum in Edinburgh, Scotland! As many of you know, I haven’t seen Mum (or my dear big brother and sweetest sister-in-law) since December 2019 due to the Lockdown travel restrictions around the world. There was a flight this week from Copenhagen so I jumped at the chance to fly over (thanks to my daily routines I could book and pack at a moment’s notice without any stress) and it was so wonderful to “see” my Mum in the flesh. Mum is 85 years old (she turned 85 in May this year) and always wears her nice clothes (unless she’s out gardening, of course), a piece of jewelry, a skoosh of perfume, etc. (I cut a couple of inches off her hair for her just before I took this photo of us because she’s been unable to get to the hairdressers and she felt her hair was dragging down her energy.) Doesn’t she look terrific, despite being confined to her house for six months?
We were able to do a spot of shopping in the city, lots of walking and had some lovely meals. Tapas with wine, haggis in a gastro pub. A takeaway from our local chip shop, washed down with a bottle of champagne which I had sent Mum for her birthday, and which she wanted to drink with me when we were finally reunited! But best of all was just being able to sit together in the evening, watching TV and chatting.
Mum has always loved being out and about – she was delighted to revisit old haunts!
Plus drinking a gin or two (Mum’s favourite tipple)! Every day is the special occasion – make sure enjoy it to the full!! 💖
But on with the outfits!
Pink and white shirt dress (with jeans to keep me warm – autumn weather is here)
Green was my Granny’s favourite colour
I love the pop of colour from adding a scarf
Lovehearts!

Happy Sunday! We had a very mixed week weatherwise here in Copenhagen…from torrential rain to baking sun. So, all in all, our typical Danish summer! And how do we usually cope? By layering and making sure that we always carry our waterproofs or an umbrella. You know what we say here, there is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing… Here come this week’s outfits and bathing photos…
This flower/hummingbird blouse was a Clothes Swap item from my Bestie, Vibeke (she was delighted to get some some jewelry I had decluttered)
One of my beloved white (machine washable) jackets…a real wardrobe staple!
My Granny loved this colour of green – a great cheery colour on a gloomy day!
My mint jeans are from a Swedish charity shop…a nice change from my standard blue or white jeans
Lunch in Copenhagen (just after the rain stopped) with my friend, Anne-Marie!
Pink and pearls!

Happy Sunday from the south-coast of Sweden where we are spending the weekend at our cabin! It’s lovely to have a couple of days in the slow lane, taking a dip in the sea before breakfast, enjoying reading our books and enjoying the company of our neighbours’ cat (who “adopted” us when we bought the cabin eight years ago). Life is good!
We’re spending the weekend at our Swedish cabin!
Last week’s Danish heatwave continued into this week, as you will see from my OOTDs this week, but we finally got some much needed rain on Wednesday and Thursday. Phew!
Great weather for ducks!
But on with this week’s OOTDs!

Well, I can sum up this week’s Danish weather in one word. Hot! The heatwave continues here in Copenhagen and I have been pulling out all the stops and wearing the kind of outfits I’d usually wear while on holiday on the French Riviera or on a Greek island. It feels like we are on vacation! Today was a stifling 32c/89f. We don’t have airconditioning so are keeping cool with cold drinks, fans and (one of my favourite tricks which I learned from my Basque friend, Joxerramon) sleeping under a wet towel! Certainly makes for a restful night. Anyway, on with this weeks OOTDs!
A very old favourite…red “fit and flare” dress (I bought it secondhand)
Light blue dotty dress was a Clothes Swap item
Electric blue cotton beachdress from OASIS is about 8 years old
Coral coloured top is another Clothes Swap item
Nothing beats a white cotton dress in these temperatures!
I love jumpsuits because they’re so practical for moving around: we cycle every day in Denmark

Have a super Sunday – hope you’re keeping cool out there!
Gosh, what a marvelous week we have had weatherwise! Temperatures have been climbing since Monday and on Friday we hit the 30s (30c = 86f) which, for us, is a heatwave. So I’ve been enjoying my morning coffee in the shade in the garden, swimming in the sea every morning and keeping my outfits very light…
Morning coffee in my dressing gown sitting in the garden, then off to the sea for a swim/picnic breakfast!
Favourite old top (Clothes Swap item) and mint jeans (charity shop find)
Bubblegum pink and pink polka dot scarf (charity shop find)!
Red trousers and red/white striped top (charity shop find)!
One of my absolute favourite places…our local Danish library: cozy crime section!
Winter white dress and gold tassel necklace (charity shop find)!
I use the Dressing Your Truth system for my capsule wardrobe (my energy type is 1/4). And I use the Flylady system to keep me organised – one of my simple daily habits is choosing my outfit the day before. I check my diary/the weather forecast to see what lies ahead, and choose a suitable outfit (I hang my outfit on a hook on the back of our bedroom door). No stress in the morning and I’m ready to enjoy whatever the day brings!
Cooling off with another seaswim. Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside! 🎤🎶
Have a super Sunday – hope you’re keeping cool out there!
Happy Sunday, dear readers! My DDH (dear Danish hubby) and I managed a few days away together at our cabin on the south coast of Sweden this week and had the most terrific weather. Sunshine AND heat, woo hoo! Beautiful sunsets, alfresco meals and icecream plus, of course, visits from our neighbours’ cat!
I always pack very simply when we go to our cabin: a few key pieces which can be mixed and matched. I use the Dressing Your Truth system for my capsule wardrobe (my energy type is 1/4) and it makes it very simple to make outfits, whatever the weather. I keep quite a few basics at the cabin (makeup/hair products, underwear, a few old pieces of clothing such as jeans, tops, sweaters, swimming and sports gear, sneakers and flip flops) which saves me bringing things back and forwards. But on with this week’s outfits!
Bubblegum pink and gold
Baby blue and white polka dots
Bubblegum pink and navy
Pastel pink and white stripes
Mint jeans and winter white
Navy, cream and gold baubles
All the blues…The beach at our Swedish cabin where I enjoy morning, afternoon and evening swims!
Have a super Sunday, wherever you are in the world!
Happy Sunday morning! It’s been another week of mixed summer weather here in Copenhagen (we often experience all four seasons in the space of an afternoon) with rather a lot of rain! ☔☔☔
Good weather for ducks!
But, hey ho, the sun HAS been shining and the temperatures HAVE been mild, so I have made an effort to wear more dresses this week, woo hoo! Just to recap, I use the Dressing Your Truth system for my capsule wardrobe and my energy type is 1/4. In the summer I like to wear dresses and jumpsuits: they are a nice easy “all in one” option. I’m really not a fan of skirts – I can’t remember the last time I wore one – and keep only one or two basic ones in wardrobe. Jumpsuits are a great option for me as they are so great for cycling and moving around!
I also wear this jumpsuit with my gold belt, gold sandals and statement jewelry to “dress it up”.
Heading out to dinner in Copenhagen with the family (cream jacket from a Danish charity shop)Pink to make the boys wink! (Stripey blouse from a Swedish charity shop)
Navy and mint (t-shirt and mint jeans from a Swedish charity shop)Navy polka dots and hot pink
Morning swim with my Bestie…best start to the day!
Here we go with another week of outfits and skinny dip seaswims with my Danish Besties! As you’ll soon see, it’s been a week of…stripes! (Polka dots and stripes are my absolute favourite prints.) I love the Dressing Your Truth system which gives me a capsule wardrobe and covers me for all four seasons… Here in Denmark we often experience all four seasons in the course of an afternoon! The summer weather here in Copenhagen has (again) been mixed, so as usual it is essential to layer…adding extra layers in the morning/evening, peeling them off in the afternoon. I use the Flylady system to keep me ticking along, and part of that includes looking out my outfit the day before. No excuses for hanging around in the morning, wasting time wondering what to wear. (I usually choose my outfit when I’m putting away the day’s load of laundry, and hang my outfit on the back of our bedroom door.)
Dressing Your Truth makes getting ready simple!
More stripes, sweater is from a charity shop!
Breakfast sea swim – scrambled eggs and hot porridge in our Thermos flasks!
And yet more stripes, navy and white…
This heart blouse is one of my new wardrobe staples!“Afternoon tea” sea swim (Chaya “cream” tea and Swiss Roll)
