Hello from our little cabin on the south coast of Sweden!

We’re fully leaning into the autumn vibes here. Our garden is full of wild toadstools at the moment. Sadly, they’re not edible (many are poisonous) but they certainly look pretty!

W’ve also been enjoying one of Sweden’s traditional cakes, prinsesstårta (princess cake). This time, autumn-themed, with blue marzipan instead of the usual green and with some blueberries mixed into the cream filling. Delicious!

We’ve been stocking up on petrol and coffee too, crazy savings on those. Foodstuffs in general are cheaper here – a good excuse to buy a small selection of cheese and biscuits to accompany our gin and tonic and ubiquitous game of Rummikub!

And, of course, there have been plenty of walks by the sea. My happy place. I could listen to the sound of the waves for hours. So relaxing!

A spot of gardening too, mowing the lawn and keeping an eye peeled for our cute red squirrels who love to play in our birch trees!

The best part? Our little Swedish escape is just an hour’s drive (crossing the Oresund bridge) from our home in Copenhagen, door to door.

Hope you’re all still enjoying the autumn season! With Halloween coming up this weekend, I’m sure there’ll be some high jinks with my Copenhagen Bluetits swimming gang. I’ll keep you posted!

Have a fabulous day wherever you are in the world !

Hugs

Will it still be an hour when you move to your new place or have you already moved? That is such a beautiful place!

It looks so beautiful there Diane! I would love to be that close to water. Your little cabin and location are a bit of heaven on earth! Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful photos of your cabin and garden, amazing toadstools and the cake looks delicious. I love being next to the sea whenever I can, but have not been able to this year as yet. Seeing you there enjoying your happy place, inspires me to make plans to do the same. Have a lovely break, listening to the waves.
I’m struck by how vast the sky and all its beautiful moods and colors look in your photos. Also interested that petrol and foods are less expensive there; we are stunned weekly by increases in the cost of both gas and groceries here in the US. Glad you have coached us so well on menu planning and frugality! Cheers!
Fabulous! Thanks for sharing💖
Wishing you a lovely day!
You take the nicest photos! 📸
I enjoyed this “visit” and hope you are well and happy 😊 Looking forward to maybe a Fall Swap? 😃
Thanks so much for the lovely photos, Diane. It was wonderful to imagine being at your seaside retreat.
I join others who have been eagerly anticipating news about your upcoming move as well as a holiday prep series. Your holiday prep information was the simplest and most useful that I read last year.
Stay well and keep enjoying life!
This entire post gave me joy to read 😊
I’ve been enjoying a warmer and drier fall than usual here in Michigan in the U.S. Blue skies, red orange and yellow leaves. Can’t be beat! Your seaside cottage looks lovely.
Lovely 💕. Thanks for sharing.
