Back into my Routines!

Happy Wednesday from wonderful Copenhagen! The Easter break is over, everyone is back to work and school and stores are open again.

Hubby and I are missing having Kiko, the rescue cat, staying with us. We never knew where in the house he was going to appear next – what a cutie cat!

But it feels great to be back into my daily routines again! I did a quick weekly upkeep clean yesterday and everything is back in ship shape fashion…

It only took 10 minutes on each task and I put on my headphones and listened to some great tunes to keep me company. Feeling overwhelmed? Use a timer to help you get started and to stop you from doing too much!

Very thankful for my hoover…there was quite a lot of cat hair, ha ha!

And, bonus, the sun is shining today and it’s warming up (there was hard frost this morning)! So I was able to get my washing hung up outside for the first time this year. Woo hoo! Love my little birdie clothes pegs (a gift from friends many, many years ago). It really is the small pleasures that make me smile!

Have a fabulous day!

Hugs

We’ve experienced what we call false spring. We had a few days where it was in the high 70s only to drop back down to freezing. Yesterday I decided to get back to it… deep cleaning our kitchen and boy does it feel great to see the progress.

The sunshine is making it so much easier to get back to routines. I have been cooking all morning before walking the dog. My LoL has just been pegged out on the line and I’m just enjoying a cuppa while I read your blog before getting on with my timer for an upkeep clean.
Thank you for being such good company and a wonderful inspiration, Diane

Lovely thoughts for getting back to routines. I love your birdie clothes pegs on the washing line. Not quite back to my own routines yet, as youngest son still home from school, studying for A Level exams. Beautiful, sunny day, so I have been in the garden making a start on a few jobs and sitting with a cup of tea, listening to the birds singing.

Wonderful getting started with you! Love your birdy clothespins. Soon to be in my garden but first the house. Sunshine is so nice!

I had to cover all my tender plants against freezing temps overnight here in Zone 7b. Loving the fresh herbs, kale/chard, and over-wintered lettuces we use daily in family dinners. As grocery prices skyrocket, I feel good about growing my own produce. Will set out tomatoes, etc. in two more weeks—itching to get these babies into the fertile soil. 🌱

Having daily routines—indoors and outdoors—also helps me stay focused on my own life as the world seems to teeter off its moorings. Voltaire reminds us: “Il faut cultiver notre jardin.”Thanks for encouraging us to stay centered with meaningful tasks, Diane. Cheers!

I like those birdy pegs too, very sweet. As far as pet hair goes, that is my biggest challenge. I have a big dog who seems to shed hair constantly, its a daily chore to keep it under control.
