Easter Dipping!

Happy Saturday from wonderful Copenhagen! A quick check in with some Easter seadipping adventures from this week…

We had an egg-stra special turnout for our Copenhagen Bluetits Easter dip this morning!

Blustery winds, eggs-tremely cold…

It was warmer in the sea than out! Sea temp is holding at 5c/41f.

We warmed up with a lovely buffet breakfast afterwards. Hot Cross buns (from the Wild Kiwi Pie shop here in Copenhagen). And tandsmør: Danish butter spread so thick that you can see your teeth marks in it! (My favourite way to eat butter, the thicker the better!)

Beccy made us some very British Birds’ Nests. Cornflakes mixed with melted chocolate and topped with chocolate eggs.

It’s not something that the Danes make. How about where you live? Very yummy! I used to make the nests when my own two kids were small, they were always a big hit at school.

Keep warm out there! Our thermos flasks and cups were filled with lots of piping hot tea!

Group photo time!

A few days ago the weather was very sunny and springlike!

But still cold, just above freezing early morning.

I caught up with my Danish Bestie, Helene, for a quick seadip…

And a good chat. We had the bathing club to ourselves as many people are away travelling for Easter break.

Have a wonderful day, whatever the weather!

Hugs

Happy Easter! Warm and sunny in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. Kids and grandkids too far away to join us so we will put on an egg hunt for the 🦮 tomorrow. Hiding plastic eggs with dog treats and kibble. He loves it!

Oh, this all sounds fantastic! And your snacks look delicious, especially the nests (so funny!).
Happy Easter!

My mum made me cornflakes cake nests and Easter biscuits. I had my sea swim yesterday so just my plunge pool today. Very windy in the UK but sea temperature is 8°C. 🐣🐰

Becky, your Easter nests are very similar to my last minute Christmas cookies (without chocolate eggs, please do not confuse). Thank you for sharing your moments of happiness and I wish you all a pleasant Easter.

Dear Diane, thank you for sharing!
(We are having some traditional so called fried egg cake (halved apricots from a tin on top of vanilla cream on top of cake base) always enjoying to see different traditions :-)Happy Easter!)

Happy Easter! Thank you for sharing these traditions ; I absolutely love learning about all you do!

I took our three children to an Easter egg roll—similar to what they do at the White House—at a former US president’s house earlier today. After several crafts and activities, they each get a wooden Easter egg to decorate, and then they use a wooden spoon to “roll” it—or fling it—down a lane, and it’s a race. They had a lot of fun, and it was free!

Tomorrow morning, their baskets will be filled with goodies from the Easter bunny, and we will go to church and later have dinner with family. Feeling very blessed! Have a wonderful Easter!!!

Our Easter dessert tradition is a luscious carrot cake with cream-cheese frosting. Decadent and delicious. We will have grilled lamb for dinner beforehand, with roasty potatoes and a fresh green salad from our spring garden. Alleluia! 🌷

My grandmother here in the States made us birds nests with all-bran cereal and chocolate. We adored them!!
