Copenhagen Christmas Gift Exchange! And homemade teabag wallets

It wouldn’t be Christmas without…

Christmas gift exchange on the bathing bridge with my Danish Besties, Vibeke and Helene!

Another one of our favourite traditions!

We met before sunrise for our skinnydip in the cold sea (6c/42f).

Was blowing a gale!

Then we danced around the tiny Christmas tree, holding hands and singing (as is the tradition here in Denmark).

Not much space but a lot of packages, woo hoo!

We sipped Bols Advocaat from my Edinburgh Crystal sherry glasses, cups of hot Christmas tea and nibbled on medjool dates and clementines while we exchanged and opened our gifts…

This year we did homemade and budget presents.

I sewed teabag wallets for all my friends this year.

A fun, low-cost project (I bought a small piece of Liberty fabric but all the other materials were things I had on hand) and great gift for those who like to travel with their own teabags!

Do you have any special traditions around the Christmas tree?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs

Have a happy time at the Beach, I loved to Dance and sing with you 🎄. Julen varer jo til Påske…ikke sandt?💃🏼. Love, Monika❣️

Hi Rita, tap on the picture right below the paragraph where I mention teabag wallets. It plays a video, where you can see me filling them.

Cannot see them either. On my screen it says the video files are corrupt.😪Any ideas what to do about that?
As always love your posts, dear Diane.

The sea dip and gift exchange … loved your matching head adornments and your joy.

The tea bag wallets are a wonderful idea, and pretty 💡

Very nice idea about the tea bag carrier! I have friends an assortment of fall teas, but put it in a zip lock bag with Happy Fall written on it…

Those tea bag wallets are great! Great variety of flavours in the tea bags as well. Lovely sharing the presents with Vibeke and Helene and a Christmas dance to warm you up 🎄❤️

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends 🎄
May 2026 bring you good health and happiness 🇦🇺🐨

All the best for you in 2026! Thank you for all you authentic bright energy- – I remain amazed at all you share!
You have lifted my heart and I am very grateful 💕

Those tea wallets are so sweet and what a lovely way to travel with tea! I appreciate so much you always sharing your holiday traditions. We don’t really have any in our family. I’ve tried creating them both when I lived with my parents and when I was first married (no children) and nothing ever stuck. I always put out my nativity and this year I put out 3 elves from my childhood, and that was it. For next year, my husband and I vowed to make more of an effort with lights outside, a tree inside, exchanging gifts, and his beloved poinsettias and maybe even some amaryllis. Happy 4th Day of Christmas and wishing you many blessings in the New Year.
