Super Moon Sea Dip and Bonfire Night Fun in Copenhagen

Four friends celebrating a chilly evening dip in Copenhagen, wrapped in towels and enjoying a cozy atmosphere with a lamp illuminating their smiles.

Good evening from Copenhagen! Last night I was out dipping with my Copenhagen Bluetits chill swimmer friends — just four of us this time, but we had such a lovely, calm evening together. We were celebrating the Supermoon, even though it was hiding behind the clouds, ha ha!

A bright full moon partially obscured by colorful clouds in a night sky, creating a serene and mystical atmosphere.

The air was surprisingly mild! Sea was cold, as usual… 11c/51f Brrrrr! Or, very refreshing, as we like to say!

Four friends smiling together at night in Copenhagen, enjoying a mini bonfire and warm drinks by the sea.

I brought along my little mini bonfire and some sparklers for Bonfire Night (Guy Fawkes Night if you’re from the UK) for extra hygge. Love the sea and an open fire!

A mini bonfire with a blue flame, set on a stone surface by the water at night, with a softly lit wooden pier in the background.

We kept cozy with homemade sausage rolls and romkugler washed down with plenty of hot tea — simple joys on a dark November night!

A cozy setup on a wooden table featuring containers of homemade treats, including sausage rolls and chocolate-covered sweets, alongside a warm drink and a small lamp.

And if you’re following along with Week Three of our Minimalist Christmas series, you’ll know that getting outside for some fresh air was one of our self-care ideas this week. A perfect reminder that a quick walk — or even a chilly sea dip! — can do wonders for body and mind. (Or sparklers, for those of us who are just big kids at heart!)

A sparkler glowing in the dark, with a blurred view of water and a dock in the background, alongside a metal thermos and a cup.

What’s your self-care today?

What a fun way to celebrate Bonfire Night! 🔥 You have such a lovely circle of friends and activities 🥹 Too many clouds here last night, so not even a glimpse of the moon for us ☹️ 🩷

Hi Christine! It’s a mini “bioethanol” bonfire. I’ve had it for about 12 years (it was a gift from hubby and the kids as they know how much I love an open fire) 😁 I often use it when I am sitting outside in the garden on summer evenings – instant hygge!

Always so encouraging and inspiring! Where can I find the mini bon fire? Would love one for the winter. So fun!! Thanks for sharing 💕💕💕💕

Our super moon was hidden too but we saw a beautiful partial moon on Sunday night. We grew up calling that very cold water “brisk” or “refreshing” 😀 I still use that mindset to enjoy cold air during a walk. Thank you for the reminder of how important the fresh air is.
Today I’m going for a little walk around the block to view the remaining autumn leaves. Future Me will be very happy about this.
Have a good and hyyge day, Diane and all!
