Rhubarb Fun, Swim Visitors and the Secret of Simple Habits!

What have you been up to this weekend? What put a smile on your face? Saturday mornings for me mean hijinks with my Copenhagen Bluetits Chill Swimmers peeps!

Group selfie of a diverse group of women enjoying a sunny day at the beach, smiling and posing with enthusiasm.

This week included a humongous bouquet of rhubarb and black and green grapes. Two of the ladies shared the bounty from their gardens with us – wow!

A woman in a pink floral robe joyfully carries a large bunch of rhubarb along a sunny outdoor path, with other people and dogs visible in the background.

I took along a morgenstang (type of Danish pastry “morning stick”) to enjoy with our coffee and tea after our dip. Because this Saturday we had special guests!

A box of Danish pastries decorated with small Danish flags, placed on a stone surface with the background featuring a calm body of water and two colorful mugs.

We had the honour of hosting some guest Bluetits who were visiting us from Milton Keynes in the UK and all the way from Jervis Bay and Wollongong in Australia. Wow!

It was so fun to connect with these ladies, Bluetits of the world unite!

And we had the most glorious weather – hot and sunny! Sea and air both 20c/68f.

In other news, the Flylady system is all about keeping our lives organised, freeing us up so we can get the most out of our days. (Like enjoying Bluetit dips!) Do you have a favourite part of the Flylady system? Mine is the Evening Routine or Evening Reset – whatever you want to call it! It doesn’t need to be complicated: lay out your clothes for tomorrow, reset your hotspot, and give yourself the gift of a calm end to the day. Just 5 minutes makes a huge difference!

A checklist for a good evening routine, including tasks like making dinner, wiping tables, checking the calendar, and preparing items for tomorrow.

What’s one small thing you can do tonight to make tomorrow easier?

A clean kitchen sink with two stainless steel basins, a decorative dish towel hanging on a bar, and a bottle of cleaning supplies beside a lit candle and a vase of flowers.

I’m making a rhubarb cake…yum!

A blue mixing bowl filled with chopped rhubarb pieces, with whole rhubarb stalks and a knife on a wooden cutting board.

Oh! And talking of tomorrow… I’ll be sharing the link for you to grab a FREE TICKET to the Get Organized HQ Virtual Conference, where I’m one of the speakers again this year – woo hoo! Stay tuned!

Graphic promoting free organizing classes featuring multiple speakers, including their names and associated brands, scheduled for September 8-13.

But until then, go do your Evening Routine, ha ha!

Hugs

Amazing rhubarb! I am going to get all my incomplete records done from last week after the kids bedtime so I can start the work week with a clean slate!

That weather and water sound delightful! Those temperatures would get me to swim in open water if only they stayed that way. 🙂 I’m excited to get the ticket for Get Organized this year. Last year’s is how I found you and I’m so glad I did!

I love my evening routine! It’s worth the effort to fold my throw after watching TV on the lounge. I also like choosing my clothes for the next day a hint that I got from you through the Fly Lady system❣️ I have been doing it for a few years now. A clean kitchen ready for the next day. The weather looks wonderful and you all look like you’re having an amazing time 😘.

Hi Diane. What a massive bunch of beautiful rhubarb 💚 I have just rewatched your evening routine video and it gave me lots of food for thought. Thank you for the reminder and for the inspiration. I think my evening routine has slipped a little bit over the last few months and your video has given the nudge to reboot it and make it work better for me and the family ✨

Whoa, that rhubarb is green. 😳 When my mom moved out of her house, she had to leave a big rhubarb patch behind as well as a large raspberry patch and an asparagus plant. We always got raspberries and rhubarb to make pies and jam. I think she misses the asparagus the most though! When you can pick it yourself, it always tastes better!

Thankyou so much for welcoming us Aussie Bluetits to your dip. What a delight! We’ve enjoyed Copenhagen so much but of course the highlight was visiting your huts. Thankyou for the pastry, transport advice/ help and tea! Delicious. Please visit Jervis Bay or Wollongong soon. There’s always a bed for a fellow Bluetit!
