Fresh starts!

Who’s ready for a fresh start for the New Year? More about that at the end of today’s post!

Are you snowed under in your corner of the world? We have snow in Copenhagen! Beautiful to see some light amongst the winter darkness!

And, of course, I’ve been skinny dipping in the sea with my Danish Besties, Vibeke and Helene. This morning the howling cold wind was brutal!

Look at these fantastic icicles on the bathing bridge (and mind they don’t fall on your head)!

Ice, ice, baby!

As we always say, the lower the temperatures, the bigger the (frozen) smiles, ha ha! Sea 3c/37f and air chill -6c/21f

If you’re biking (as we are), wrap up warm and mind how you go!

Yesterday I dipped with my sweet friend, Angela, at sunset.

It was lovely to warm up with a bowl of my homemade spiced carrot soup afterwards. Plus the ubiquitous thermos of tea.

We sat outside, in below zero temperatures, enjoying our soup and watching the sunset. Magical!

For me, it really is these small things, the little hygge moments spent with friends and family that bring so much joy to me!

In other news, the Danish festive holidays are coming to a close and I’m looking back forward to being back on YouTube. What have I got for you this January?

Well, wait and see! Announcement coming this weekend… I so hope you will join me for this new series, I’m very excited, woo hoo!

Meanwhile keep warm and cozy out there! Or if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere, I’m sending you some virtual ice for your cold drinks, ha ha!

Hugs

Skinny dipping! – the neighbors are ok w “nekked” swimmers.
You’re some kind of tough to get into that frigid water. Wow

Happy New Year, Diane from (rainy, sunny, rainy, sunny) California 😎 Best wishes for a healthy 2026 💕

Happy New Year from Canada! Definitely have the snow and have had some cold! Looking forward to getting back into my usual routines!

Happy New Year from Colorado where the sunsets are amazing! Usually have snow, but not much this winter so far.

Happy New Year, Diane and friends ❄️I have missed your cheery visits so much and it’s great to hear that you will be back soon! 🩷

Snowing almost every day here since before Christmas, but we expect to see the sun in Upstate New York tomorrow. Happy New Year, Diane! You ladies look fabulous!

Stunningly beautiful photos 💞. We had 42 deg Celsius here yesterday, our swimming enclosure at the jetty (pier) was very busy in the early morning, with us all getting a swim before the heat. Much cooler temps today (30C), and I’m just heading off for a swim before work. One of our local swimmers is turning 30 today and she’s promised she is going to wear her mermaid tail for today’s swim, I can’t miss that!!

Love all your photos! I look forward to your posts arriving in my inbox box. 🩷. You are always smiling & look so cute all the time!
Greetings from Fargo, North Dakota. We share similar temperatures & day lengths! 😄

New Years Greetings from Vancouver Island….snow at our ski mountain but drizzle with patches of sun elsewhere…6 degrees C.

Happy New Year! Love your Vlogs! Cant wait till September when we come for the Copenhagen Race. My husband is one of the 30,000 that will be running. Keep up the great work you do on here.!

Thank you for sharing the beautiful pictures of all of you and the sea! The ice shards are beautiful too if a huge reminder of the chill. We are between snows here; melting; foggy; freezing; repeat!! Looking forward to seeing you on YouTube! I loved these pics!

Happy New Year from New Zealand. Long summer days here and sunny-sea swimming! I am embracing all you taught me during my coaching session last year – finding it so useful now during the busy season. Thank you! Jj

Happy New Year, even in the Netherlands, we have a lot of snow this week. Because of my work, I couldn’t swim this week in the cold water. 🥲. Hopefully next week!

Looking forward to see you on YouTube!

Lovely photos even though I don’t like the snow and cold! I’m looking forward to your video series. You keep me inspired and on track.

Thank you for all the encouragement Diane! It doesn’t extend to winter bathing, but you all look so happy doing the ice swims.
Happy New Year from the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia.
Although it is NOT sunny today, and is so grey that you can’t tell the ocean from the clouds and rain and can’t see Vancouver Island at all!

Lovely photos Diane- thank you for sharing some snippets of your life in wonderful Copenhagen.
Looking forward to seeing what you have planned for YouTube. I always feel inspired and motivated after watching your videos and appreciate all your hard work and enthusiasm.
Happy new year to you all from a chilly and icy Bath ( the place not the tub 😁)🥰🎉xx

It is very hot here, it got to 44C in my area of South Australia yesterday and today it is already 31C and it is only 7am. So I envy your snow. It is very hard to get a lot done as you heat up too much. On a positive note, the washing dries very quickly on the washing line.

Looking forward to your return on YouTube, Diane!
Thanks for the photos of the icicles! (It’s been 42C here in Melbourne, so the photos gave me a moment of incredulous delight!)

Happy New Year Diane! Love your updates, as usual, and can’t wait to see what is to come on YouTube. Here in Los Angeles, we’re getting back to work, while I wait for my first baby to arrive (2/1!)… Sending well wishes for the New Year from the US!

Happy New Year Diane and hello from sunny Italy! Still we have below zero temperatures this week! -6°C. Yesterday I start to reset cleaning and decluttering! More to come in the days ahead. It really feel good.

Thanks Diane we could do with that virtual ice where I live in Australia, it’s 5.38 in the late afternoon and it’s still 37 degrees Celsius 🥵. We’ve had a few very hot days here. It’s lovely to see you having such a great time with your friends and that sunset was amazing 😊. Looking forward to what you have in store for us this year. I hope you, your family and friends enjoyed jumping into the New Year 🎉

Happy New Year! Today is my birthday, usually ignored because everyone is tired of all of the previous festivities. I am looking forward to a new start this year!

Thank you, Diane and Happy New Year. I also wanted to say ‘thank you’ again for your Christmas planning posts which literally transformed our Christmas experience last and this year. Very much looking forward to heading into 2026. xx

Happy New Year!! We had snow in our part of Michigan before Christmas, then it rained and melted. Then it snowed again on New Year’s Eve, which was great because we got to go sledding New Year’s Day while my son was home from college in California. Now it it has rained and melted again. Tomorrow it’s supposed to get up to 56°F! But then back to the 30’s the next day.

Can’t wait for your weekend announcement!
