It’s Day 18 of our Tiny Tasks Challenge but first… Does the sea ever freeze over where you live? If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I am a keen winterbather and ice swimmer! Yesterday I met up with my Danish besties, Vibeke and Helene, and for the first time in several years we were unable to get into the sea.
All the stairs are iced up!
The sea in Copenhagen has frozen over. A sight to behold! The normally crashing waves and powerful force of nature turns in to slush ice and then, after days of freezing Easterly winds, completely ices up.
Perhaps we’ll be able to get in and dip and hold lumps of ice haha as we have done before in previous years but right now it’s just too dangerous to access. As always, safety first!
Isn’t Mother Nature incredible?
But we did enjoy a little picnic that we had brought along to keep us warm. I had made my Mum’s famous minestrone soup. Vibeke brought along rye bread for our soup, plus marcipan sweets and liquorice pipes.
Helene brought hot mango tea and Petit Ecolier biscuits. Yum!
In other news, we have just three days left of our 2026 reset! I’ve been given you daily prompts with tiny tasks for the last four weeks. I have done all the thinking for you. You just need to put in five or ten minutes effort and stand back and be amazed at the results!
So, what are you going to tackle today? I have a box of donations and a library book to drop off!
Stay warm out there!
Hugs
Diane and Denmark
