When do you usually find time to read – in the morning with a cuppa, last thing before bed (that would be me!) or perhaps it only happens when you’re on vacation? Reading is one of my favourite forms of self-care (see these videos for easy self-care prompts) – it helps me get out of my own head, especially when I feel things are heavy. This morning I was down at the sea for a dip with my Besties before starting work, and I took my library book along so I could enjoy a chapter afterwards. I’m a big fan of Niels Krause-Kjær’s novels – political thrillers set here in Denmark, always with a dash of sharp, satirical social commentary. (I know Niels personally and he’s every bit as nice and funny as his writing!) A couple of his books have even been made into movies, and some of his novels are available in English if you fancy giving them a try…
It didn’t take much time. Just a few minutes enjoying the calm, along with a cup of coffee from my thermos.
I also “read” audiobooks while doing my routines or just to keep myself entertained while cleaning and decluttering. I get all my audiobooks through our Danish library using the Libby reading app – so nice to always have my audiobooks with me! Right now, I’m listening to Sue Minix (I’ve read several books in this cozy crime series before).
And I’ve just finished this one by Linda Corbett. Not my usual type of book (I’m not a fan of romantic novels or movies, cozy crimes are my go-to) but it was a nice, fluffy audiobook and quick “read”!
What’s your self-care moment going to be today? A bike ride in the fresh air sets me up for the day!
And since it’s Flylady Wednesday – Anti-procrastination day – this is your gentle nudge to tackle one thing you’ve been putting off. Doesn’t need to be big or scary! Pay a bill, clear out one kitchen drawer (I always tidy/wipe out one fridge drawer) or make that pesky phone call… you’ll feel so much lighter once it’s done!
Speaking of which, if you haven’t yet signed up for your free ticket to Get Organized HQ 2025, why not do it today using my link? I’m one of the speakers again this year!

Don’t procrastinate – just a couple of clicks and you’re done! Rah, rah, rah!
But back to the books…what are you reading right now and when (or where) do you read?
Have a wonderful day!
