Food, trinkets, something else? 👋🤩 Woo hoo, the gang is finally back together! 🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏😍🇩🇰☀️ First time we've ALL been able to meet for our skinnydip seaswim and bike ride since we went off on vacation (at different times) 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🚲🚲🚲 I brought back Baci sweets from Venice 🇮🇹 for Vibeke and Helene 🍬🍬🍬 and Vibeke brought us Genovese pesto and pistachio chocs from Portofino 🇮🇹 Yum! 😋 We always buy each other clutter-free souvenirs...usually always edible! 😄 Was so excited to see the girls that I completely forgot to take a sea photo so here's one from another day 😂🌊🌊🌊 What's for dinner at your house? New recipe, family favourite? 👏😋🍲 🥣🥗Tuesday is Flylady "Plan and Play " (set your timer for 15 minutes and go!) I plan our weekly menu, look ahead in the diary to see what's ahead, pay any bills which are due and plan a little fun! ✍️👩‍🍳🍳 I never menu planned before using the Flylady system (thought I could wing it 😱😂) but it saves so much stress and money (and less food waste 😉). I keep a list of easy dinners/family faves and then add in something new each week. (Check your fridge to see what needs used up!) Last week we had mussels (cooked in the Instant Pot), Pad Thai, panko chicken breasts... Sue! 👏😍 Must have been fate! Because I'm wearing the petal pink scarf she gave me last year (it belonged to her Dearly-Departed-Mum) 💖 My whole outfit is second-hand today: pink knitted top belonged to my DD20, she decluttered it last week. Wide-legged cropped jeans came from a Clothes Swap party (belonged to my friend Kate). My camisole (not shown) is from a charity shop ♻️ Oh, and my bathing flip flops previously belonged to Sue 😅🩴🩴 #swaptilyoudrop Vibeke and I were there for a quick dip in the sea, Sue was (as usual) swimming several kilometres (!!!) up and down the coast with other friends of ours #shesaninspiration 💪💪💪🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🦭🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊 👋😄✏️♻️ Am I the only one who is fed up seeing social media full of back to school "shopping hauls"?! 😱 It doesn't have to be that way! 👩‍🎓👨‍🎓🎒✏️✏️✏️ Schools here in Denmark restarted today after the summer break ☀️🇩🇰🧕🙎‍♂️💁‍♀️Are you ready to get back to work, or are your kids going back to school? Is everything set up, or are you worrying about where to start? School supplies, football kit, packed lunch boxes, computer programs... Throw it on a chair in the corner of the bedroom?! 😱 Stop right there! 😁✋🛑 STOP piling things on The Chair! 😅👗👕👖👔👘👚 This month we're working on our laundry habits...seeing where we can improve and making it more enjoyable! 👏🤩 Years ago, before I started using the Flylady system, I would PILE clothing on a chair or by the bed. All those piles of clothing on the bedroom chair (or the floor 😱🤭) are Piles of PROCRASTINATION... 😉 I don't wash my clothing after every wear, unless it's been worn close to the skin (e.g. underwear) or is stained, dirty, etc. Let's go through that pile, one item at a time, when you are doing your Routine today. Does the item of clothing need washed? Put it in the laundry basket 🧺 Can it be worn again? I like to put items on a hanger and air them outside or beside an open window 🏡 and then I put them back in the wardrobe. I know several of you use a decorative "ladder" in your bedroom to air clothes 🪜🪜 Is the item torn or stained beyond repair? ♻️ Recycle or use as a cleaning rag. It doesn't fit or you don't like the shape/colour/style? Donate! 👗👖👡 Make a decision! 😃👍 Set your timer for just 5 minutes and go reclaim the Chair or the top of the dressing table or the floor...⏱🏃‍♀️ More tips coming all this month! Do you have a Friday evening ritual? 😍 Woo hoo, the weekend is on the horizon! Our hygge ritual is our Snack Basket...the basket used to be bigger when our kids still lived at home, but I like to continue the tradition for hubby and me! 😅 (Baskey doesn't have to be snacks or sweets, could be fruit, books, games, toiletries/skincare, craft project...) But remember to do your "got to dos" before your "want to dos"... So my Evening Routine is done! Go me! 💪😄 Sink dried, fresh teatowel from Sirmione (my clutter-free souvenir from our Italian vacation a few weeks ago 🇮🇹) and fresh handtowel out. Posy of sweetpeas from our garden, candle lit by the sink ✂️🏡🌸🕯🇩🇰 Breakfast table and coffee maker set up for tomorrow. I've chosen my Yarp Narp mug to match today's outfit (I made the Yarp t-shirt myself using iron-on chenille letters: YARP is a reference to one of my favourite movies Hot Fuzz) 👕😂 ☕️🥣 Calendar checked, swimming bag ready. The Copenhagen Bluetits are back together, woo hoo! 💥😁🇩🇰🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️ Was soooo good to catch up! We've been swimming during the summer, of course, but this was the first time the group got together 😍 Go Bluetits! 🌊🇩🇰 Love this group of ladies, I always leave on a pure high! 🙏😁💖 Gráinne has been home in Ireland 🇮🇪 and returned with lots of edible goodies including gifts of Ballymaloe relish and Barry's tea (a staple in our group) 🫖☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️😅 🍅 Happy Thursday from (almost too) hot and sunny Copenhagen 🔥☀️👋🤩🇩🇰 What's on your Errand Day list? 🛒 Thursday is "Errand Day" in Flylady Land: I don't always do my Errands on Thursdays but having my list/plan ready is a great time, money and stress saver! (I keep a running list on my phone using the app "Google Keep") ✍️ Not much on my list this week, but we ALWAYS need fresh Danish ryebread 🍞 and I may be a little obsessed with tomatoes at the moment - best time of year for them! 🍅😁🍅 Make sure to check what's in your fridge/pantry before you buy more - let's stop food waste! 🧀🥒🍼🍷🥗 I've also returned some books to the library...digital copies (we borrow for free through our local Danish library/ereolenGlobal) 📚📚📚 and picked up medicine from the pharmacy 💊💊 Get your list/shopping bags ready before you head out 🛍👜 Supermarket, library, post office, pharmacy, ironmonger/hardware store...what do you need to pick up or hand in?
