Hip, hip, hooray for my Danish Bestie, Vibeke, 62 years young! If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know what a treasure of a friend she is. Caring, wise, sweet and funny. I feel very lucky!
Vibeke invited us over for a ladies’ birthday brunch and my other Danish Bestie, Helene, was there too!
And, oh my goodness, what a feast we had – yum! Starting with yoghurt and home-roasted müsli…
Lots of delicious home-baked rolls.
A beautiful platter of cheeses and jams. Oven baked tomatoes with cheese.
Scrambled eggs, cured ham and salami.
And the most stunning selection of fresh fruit. It looked like a still life painting. Just look at all those gorgeous colours! (My favourite are, of course, the raaaaaaspberries!)
We toasted Vibeke with Sparkling Tea (looks just like pink champagne, but no alcohol). Along with fresh ginger shots, fruit juice, pots of tea (Vibeke is a Tea Jenny) and coffee. And macarons too. Such a hyggelig way to celebrate.
Though the festivities tired someone out, ha ha! Here’s Cleo, having a nap outside in the fresh air…
I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, whatever you’re up to! And if you haven’t connected with a friend (near or far) in a while, why not send them a wee text to say you’re thinking of them? It doesn’t take much to brighten someone’s day!
Hugs
Diane in Denmark
