Happy Tuesday from wet and wild Copenhagen! If you’re out sea dipping today, hold on to your hat, it’s a little stormy out there! Do you enjoy tackling the bathroom when it’s Flylady Zone 3 week—or is it the space you’d rather avoid? As much as I love dipping in cold Danish seawater, I see a warm bubble bath and candles in my future this week, woo hoo!
This week we’re in Flylady Zone 3: the bathroom plus one other room of your choice. Remember, it’s not about scrubbing for hours or having everything perfect. Just a few small steps to make the space more welcoming for you and your family. Set your timer for 5–10 minutes and pick one of these quick tasks…
Three quick bathroom cleaning tasks (Flylady Zone 3)
- Clear and wipe the flat surfaces. Tidy away lotions and potions, then give the bathroom counter or shelves a quick swipe.
- Clean the mirror and taps. Sparkly glass and shiny chrome make the whole bathroom feel fresher!
- Declutter the shower or bath. Toss the nearly-empty bottles, old razors, and products you don’t like or won’t use. (If you go to Swaps parties, as I do, put any gently used items in your Swap bag. I found quite a few this week!)
Three self-care ideas in the bathroom
And a post from me wouldn’t be complete without a self-care reminder! The bathroom is the perfect spot for a little pampering this week. Try one of these!
- A bubble bath or pamper shower. Light a candle, play your favourite music, and add a drop of oil or bubble bath for a spa vibe. It doesn’t have to be in the evening: I often have a pamper shower by candlelight on dark mornings here in Copenhagen.
- Try a simple DIY face mask or body scrub. I’m not big into masks and scrubs but sugar and olive oil makes a nice hand scrub. Or give yourself a little spritz of that perfume you’ve been saving “for a special occasion”. Every day is a special occasion!
- Give your feet some love. Our feet have seen a lot of action over the summer. A quick soak in warm water with Epsom salts, a scrub, and then fluffy socks—instant relaxation! When it’s bathroom week, that’s my prompt to do a mini pedicure: trim my toenails and repaint them with pink or red polish.
Still got time and energy this week to do more cleaning? Use my Flylady Zone 3 Bathroom Checklist below for inspiration. DO NOT ATTEMPT to do everything from the list this week. What stands out to you most? Do that!
And if you’d like some company while you clean, try one of my body doubling videos—where we can work together in real time, woo hoo!
Okay, so are you feeling motivated yet? Small steps, both for your home and for you, really do add up! What’s one little thing you’ll do in the bathroom this week—for cleaning or for yourself? Leave a comment and let me know—we can cheer each other on! Rah, rah, rah!
