Join the Garden Party (Week Three)

Eight days have passed sinceJoin the Garden Party (Week Two) and, again, there has been a lot of activity in the garden.  Mostly from the garden’s side!  ;D

To be perfectly honest, I was a bit late with my ‘lawnmothering’ this week, so the grass was almost knee-high and the dandelions heads were towering towards the sky!  Thank goodness I have this blog to keep me accountable…  I decided to get out before lunch today and just get on with it.  So the lawn is now fit for a King or Queen or maybe a game of croquet?

This is a picture of the back lawn.

We have more round the side of the house

and the front. Mowing time? About 40 minutes.

DD9’s seeds have shot up and we should be able to plant them outside now (we haven’t had frost for the last 10 days)

Next on the agenda are the stone borders around the house which looked perfectly fine just four weeks ago but are now chock full of grass.  I’m tempted to blast them with my gas weed-burner, but I know that I have to get out my little chair, sit my little bottom down, and take out the largest weeds by hand.  And THEN I can blast what is left with my weed-burner – yeargh!

Join me next week for an update?  It should be blooming lovely!  ;D

A couple of flowering bushes

that we planted a couple of years ago 🙂

Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Hi there! Thanks for posting this, you are encouraging me to start to work in my garden too. I've been working at it a bit last week, but I need to do more. Boy, you have a beautiful and huge garden! Mine is sooo small compared to yours. But hey, mowing only takes me ten minutes 😉

  2. That's about how long it takes me to mow our lawn -when I'm not being stopped to get water for the neighbor kids 😛 I think it is finally warm enough to start planting here!

  3. Hi girls! I vote we have a virtual garden party like last year – at the end of summer to celebrate all our efforts! ;D
